This result showed just how bad this team really is, frankly the defence is too slow and old and the likes of Benteke is just about as bad as it get for a striker, he has no mobility, is slow and just cannot pass defenders he fails to use his strength, lacks ground skills and frankly looks like he has lead in his boots. The tactics have moved to Fdv attacking type of game plan and yet that will not work with this squad, because our defenders are slow, old and prone to injury they make silly mistakes and can not get back quick enough when the other team breaks from defence. Sadly poor old Roy seems confused and clueless sitting on the touch line scratching his head and pulling funny faces. This team is showing up the lack of investment over the past 2/3 years and without significant investment coming up in the next transfer window means at best we are in a relegation fight and serious contenders for a place back in the championship!

Things I wonder about:

1) Whether the players support Luka as captain.
2) Why Roy doesn't tell Luka that if he gets a cheap yellow early, he'll be on the bench.
3) Why Kouyate uses his arms more than his feet.
4) Why Luka is taking danger-zone free kicks when Eze is younger, stronger, and more skilled. Eze's corners are generally very good to excellent.
5) Why Roy continues to play PVA when Mitchell, though flawed, dependably worked at playing his POSITION.
6) Whether the players support Roy as a coach.
7) What the players would do if self-coached.
8] Why Guaita, a first-class player, would possibly want to remain at Palace when his contract expires.
9) What the players would say to Parish if he held a players-only meeting to solicit their thoughts.

All the above is great, however if the team is not good enough then the message to Parish is simple invest or get relegated!

As much as I want to scream at the players or ‘Roy out’ I can’t help but feel a lack of investment is essentially what’s biting us in the arse.

A group of ageing and tired players today were shown that a young and hungry outfit with a young and hungry manager can still beat us easily with ten men.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Thought we were outrun and outplayed. Dann and Ward both did well against West Ham but came up horribly short today but not convinced that an overweight Sakho or Tomkins who hasn’t played for eight months would have fared any better.

Trying to play on the front foot with two in the centre is clearly beyond the group we have and is exposing the age and weakness in the squad.

Benteke is still sh1t and hasn’t scored as many as he should have done in recent games. Also been caught offside as frequently as Bats. Every time we lose the critics claim it’s because we haven’t used players that have already under performed including the massively overrated Riedewald.

The manager bears a fair degree of responsibility for today but the owners need to look closer and put their hands in their pockets.

Kind of agree with this, we don't have the team to play on the front foot, in particular regarding defenders.
Trying to accomodate Eze, by becoming more attacking is backfiring.
So, my guess is that we will revert to a more defensive team (which is never a wrong idea), and Eze could be sacrificed if so.
But now we need to be more compact and hard to break to gain the points we need.

My view for some while has been that our squad is simply NOT good enough.

There are 15 players either 29 or in their 30s, players in the 'Twilight' of their careers, players who are injury prone and now lack pace, mobility and energy. They are 'Treading water' and we are only 15 games into a 38 game PL season.

The vast majority have generally been good for us but the fact that so many have contracts running out at the end of the season isn’t going to help us in a relegation battle either. We’re in serious trouble IMO.

You would like to think SP & CO as good business men will have this all under control

I thought that it was well known that Harris and Blitzer want out and I would interpret that as there being some differences with SP.

Compare our squad to Sheffield Utd, Fulham, West Brom, Brighton, Leeds, Burnley, Newcastle.

You might take one or two of there players, but we have the better squad.

Age should be no excuse for lack is desire. Delany, Jedinak, Puncheon, Murray Phillips never showed a lack of hunger to perform.

Delaney, Jedinak and Puncheon were terrible by the time they left. Good at their peak.
