VAR aside, Leeds were so open defensively we could feasibly have had another two or three, as could Leicester on Monday. Roy clearly looked at that game and we exploited their obvious frailties. Leeds looked tired by the end and that Ayew goal was ridiculous how much space and time he had. It's all well and good getting 5 or 6 players in the opposing box but if you can't get back to defend you're going to get whipped. We were braver on the ball yesterday and it paid dividends.

Correct and I feel this is possibly where we have been in order to not be whipped when up against decent organised sides, credit must always be allowed for managers who think and plan, Mr Hodgson is a thinking man ...hence we are safe and sound and a really good proposition for any new manager when the time comes.

At the start of the break before Ayew's goal, you see one of the Leeds players in the middle of the pitch head just drop as he throws a strop like a stroppy teenager.

Then take a look at Townsend calling for the pass in front of him before Ayew's goal. Draws both defenders attention away from Ayew.

Still, that shouldnt detract from Palace players being deadly on the break.

Leeds are missing the defensive 'Shield' provided by Kalvin Phillips. He was missing against Leicester last week and again yesterday and Leeds conceded 8 goals in those two matches.

Ah Willo is trying to make excuses for Leeds and his predictions before the game that Leeds were going to swarm all over us and win.

Regulars to HOL will testify that my predictions often go totally awry.
My record of prognostications that turn out to be correct is dire in the extreme.

Willo I often use your predictions to place my bets in the opposite direction so keep them coming..!!

On the same note - I’m as guilty as you yesterday I was bemoaning the selection of Ayew over Bats, saying Ayew was very average and offered little more than running around a lot etc..

Then he scores the 4th albeit not with the greatest conviction.

Did anyone notice Ayew’s reaction when he scored - almost angry - anyone know what all that was about?

Apparently that is his normal look I think he has even commented on it himself.

I once heard an A.Villa supporter comment that their erstwhile player always has a "Face like a slapped a..e".

Comes across a little petulant don’t you think - almost like he feels like he’s proving/has to prove a point..!!

Ayew probably has good reason considering the points he helped us with in the past, it's up to Bats to show what he can do in training and when he gets the opportunity, no harm in having competition and no harm in showing your feelings to everyone around you ...worst thing to do is bottle them up.
