im not blinkered, just realistic, we have now played best part of 2 months with half our best starting 11 injured, relying on kelly jairo etc. half of our 1st team havnt played a string of matches all season and have come in & we've kept grinding out points to stay mid table.

a poster earlier stated i wasnt saying that under sam, you cant compare sam & roy...one spent a fortune and f***ed off after 5 months and another has integrity and just gets on with it.

just because my mood doesn't change like ive got some sort of personality disorder because we lost a game doesnt mean i dont see fault in people, its more the fact the good points far outweigh the bad so you just take the down points on the chin knowing all in all a good job is being done.

if i could be arsed (which i cant) i would collate responses from posters from all match threads just to show the utter kneejerk lunacy in some fans rambling on here post match, im not saying thats you btw fella.

You are very correct.

Without repeating the post, I agree with Braunstoneagle.

Tuesday was a bad night at the office that happens sometimes. It's not often that the majority of the team have an off night but that was one of them.

If Tosun hadn't got over excited with his ' Hollywood ' finish, the game may have been different. I'm pretty sure Ings would have gobbled that opportunity up.

Anyway, our strategy of getting knocked out of the Cup in the 3rd round could be about to pay dividends as the players get a rest.

I’m a fan of nearly 50 years standing and long for the day Hodgson is no longer manager.
I’m not trying to persuade his supporters that I’m right or that I know more than them.
I acknowledge that he’s done a reasonable job and was fortunate to witness us win at Man City and Arsenal, something I never thought I would see.
Why do I want a new manager then?
In simple terms I can’t stand the way we play.
I can’t stand his apparent mistrust of skill and the negative effect on players such as Zaha and Townsend.
For me football is about more than results and I want my team to play with passion and verve - not try to bore the opposition to defeat.
Some will say this is naive, there’s too much at stake, money etc etc.
However, my favourite season in recent years was the Championship season which was ultimately successful.
Zaha and Bolassie running havoc down the wings with a free scoring Murray.
You can actually obtain results with three genuine attacking players and still be solid at the back with the other 7 outfield players.
The only time I hear Hodgson praise Ayew and Townsend is for their defensive work.
We play every home game as if we’re facing Man City.
Before anybody asks, I’ve no suggestions as to a replacement but we’re going to have to cross that bridge at some point in any event.

That’s observation not a trust issue.

Is it possible to both appreciate Roy for the fantastic job he’s done in the circumstance and hate the way we play?

I agree with you re: playing style/tactics but I’d also argue that’s why Roy is in the job, I’d suggest we haven’t missed out on top attacking talent because Roy doesn’t want those type of players.

Southampton was sh!t and I retain the right to moan about it but hopefully it’s just one of a few more ups and downs until the end of the season when we eventually finish relatively safe.

Nothing will change until our financial situation does. If it is awful on the pitch now it will be just as bad if not worse in the Championship or league one I’d bet.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Been a fan since my dad took me when they were in the 4th division. In that time I don't think many teams have been promoted and relegated as much as Palace. In the good times you cheer, bad times you moan BUT you stay with them.

I think the problem we have here is that we're split down the middle as to whether we're in a good or a bad time.

We all want to stay in the EPL, but if the football we play to achieve this is so dire then you must expect complaints.

I really hope we can get a full first team out soon and see how the tactics are then. The EPL is a brutal place. A cliche but no easy games.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

No easy games, but some games easier than others. Setting up with the same team and tactics away to Man City and home to Southampton is a case in point. One is definitely easier than the other. I can see that, the bookies can see that.

The set up and tactics are the same for every game, injuries or no injuries. How else to explain the lowest goals count and low possession percentage? Injuries or not, the emphasis is on defence, with 8 defence-minded players starting, whoever the opposition.
Not having one shot on goal, even a hit and hope from 30 yards, or one corner in a game is inexcusable.

Can't stand the way we play??
Brighton felt the same way and dreamed of a new expansive style, putting scout master Potter in charge and despite the apparent attractive football they play, are they not just two points above the drop zone??

I’m not interested in Brighton and I’m not asking anybody to agree with me.
Some fans are happy to stay up regardless of style of play and they are entitled to their opinion.

And therein lies the rub, dear Palace fans.

You either let Roy Hodgson's tactical setup and starting 11 wash over you like some kind of dull tepid tidal wave, guaranteeing premier league footy every season, or you long to see us have a bit of a go.

Parish has made his choice and he likes the TV money and fame of being a Premier League chairman above all else, so its Roy or bust at the minute.

Remember AWB - without a chronic injury crisis at right back he would still be plugging away in the reserves and going out on loan to s*** sides in league 2.

AWB tells you all you need to know about Hodgson.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

The saints game was awful but I think there were quite a few contributing factors. All I'll say is the 7 seasons in the premier league have been a hell of a lot more enjoyable/ memorable than the 7 seasons which preceded it! Obviously there were a couple of major moments relegation survival and playoff win clearly being lifelong memories but you can rattle off a list for every season we've been in the prem. So I'd personally like us to stay there and whoever the manager is that keeps us there will get my backing.
