It's all gone quiet on here from the Greece lovers...LOL It appears that most of the EU delegates held my view of Greece's economic credentials.... untrustworthy, incompetent and largely corrupt. Part of the deal done is to insist that regular external checks are carried out to ensure they are sticking to the agreed plan and not cooking the books again.
Reading through the reforms demanded they seem so restrictive on Greece it's hard to see where any organic economic growth is going to come from in their economy. They have such little wiggle room it seems that all this deal will do is kick the can down the road for a little bit longer until we get to a similar position in a year or two.
I'm happy to see the EU taking a hard line with Greece who have been taking the p1ss for decades rather than caving in like pussies as you would advocate.

Can kicked further down the road. The debt was already unsustainable. Is now completely unsustainable. The Greek government will never pay it back and the existing administration don't have the mandate to pay it back. 3 years from now (or more likely sooner) we will be back here. Maybe that time they will finally accept reality.

havent they accepted tighter austerity measures that were first on the table and refused by the nit wit in charge ? The EU is a wonderful concept in theory, but in practice is as unworkable as a dog fcukin a cat.

You stick to posting "Bender" Dan.... it makes you more credible. Anyway... let's have a laugh with a few Greek gags... Some years ago a small rural town in Spain twinned with a similar town in Greece. The mayor of the Greek town visited the Spanish town. When he saw the palatial mansion belonging to the Spanish mayor, he wondered aloud how The following year the Spaniard visited the Greek town. He was simply amazed at the Greek mayor's house: gold taps, marble floors, diamond doorknobs, it was marvellous. When he asked how he’d raised the money to build this incredible house, the Greek mayor said:‘You see that bridge over there?’ The Spaniard replied: ‘No.’..............

How about you do the detective work for a change and prove they didn't say that? It's a lot more effort than posting "Bender" obviously. Belligerent..... that adjective suits you perfectly. Empirical evidence.... hahaha you jest.... more like Wikipedial evidence. Don't keep taking me on as you know I have more wisdom experience and a better sense of humour. Deep down you know it.

I'm off to watch the tour de France on TV for the afternoon Dan.... I'll be back tomorrow morning. That gives you plenty of time to construct a reply with factual evidence (cut and paste the relevant quotes). That should keep you busy.

Me and my "antiquated views" like expecting someone who has borrowed something to give it back. I can still remember the time that you thought Forest Hillbilly was being serious about solar panels affecting the Sun... that is Priceless.
