You can bet your life on it. As I've said on numerous occasions Parish is all pi55 and wind. He talks a good game but that's about it. I would bet that he had no intentions of making any moves for Watkins, Benrahma, Brewster or any striker that we've been supposedly linked with.

From the new ground at Crystal Palace Park, to the new stand, to bolstering the squad, everything that comes out of his mouth is cobblers and I can't believe there are still people out there who hang on to every word he spouts. I don't give a toss whether he saved the club 10 years ago, he can't dine out on that forever. If he can't continue to move the club forward then he needs to get out. The problem though is nobody wants to come in and take it, and that's probably because he's made it what it is today - unattractive due to stagnation.

The whole Palace experience has become one big disappointment after another. Take Saturday's game for example. I didn't expect to beat Chelsea, but I expect us to at least have a go. It was embarrassing. My Chelsea supporting mate who is usually quite sensible when appraising the opposition just said that we were pathetic, and the worse side he's seen in a long time. He laughed at the decision to take off two defensive midfielders and replace them with two defensive midfielders when we were chasing the game. I couldn't offer any defence to that because he was right.

A blind man can see where we need replacements, but Parish will stick with Roy despite some terrible results and performances because he knows that he won't rock the boat and is a 'Yes' man. That's why Allardyce and Pulis didn't stick around because they insisted on improvements to the squad, and who can blame them when ultimately it's their necks that are on the line ? They both saw that it was going to be a constant battle so both upped sticks.

I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to not give a furck, just as it appears that the management don't.

I have also supported the club for almost 50 years, and was also there during the third division years and the turgid mid eighties. I have seen some shocking players during those times, however I can't ever remember the side playing such negative stuff as we do now. We all knew we were shyte back then, but at least we tried to win instead of just sitting back and hoping for a draw.

If you were excited about our performance against Chelsea then you might want to get out more.

Seems like the new normal is very much like the old normal.

We spend the window wishing for better. We now have a few months of arguing about whether we are going down or not, before we can get down to a winter window of wishing for better and being disappointed again, then arguing about relegation until ultimately we find out that we are just about good enough.

We are even managing to argue about who goes to more games - when we will all go to the same number (0) this year.

It can’t be a surprise that we can’t move forward when we have our marquee signings from the last few years generally performing like carthorses whilst earning a little shy of half a million a week in wages.

Given the parlous state of everything, I was pleased with this window. Eze will be great and we sold Sorloth for the same price. Kept Zaha. Not spent anything else, picked up a couple of others who might contribute in the long term and found Mitchell under the sofa somewhere. This might be the season when it all starts to turn round and we might be able to start getting some momentum.

It might be two or three seasons until we see it though.
