How could player wages be capped to make any real impact given that the top earners are on half-a-mil-a-week already? Would UEFA put a figure on it e.g. 600k? That's not going to make any different to the situation we're currently in and I can't imagine top earners taking a pay cut, as much as I'd like to see that happen. I really don't know what the enforceable solution is - a better version of FFP that doesn't allow such ridiculous amounts of debt to be accrued by clubs? Edited by Frickin Saweet (21 Apr 2021 4.29pm) The way it works in the NFL is that the teams have a maximum amount to spend on wages and it’s up to them how share it out.

And a lot more clarification as to what constitutes debt. Brighton have been “loaned “millions by Bloom and it doesn’t seem to matter Well a mortgage is a debt, but is offset by an asset - and Brighton have spent a lot on infrastructure.

Who Doesn't want to have a league which includes *only* the best teams in the World playing, rather than the over inflated competition which includes some dross opposition from some second rate eastern european league that is the Champions league. UEFA have been up in arms about it - but lets not quibble the fact that they are only mortified because it'll be in direct competition to them and will devalue their product. They are supposed to govern all football in Europe, and this also a challenge to their monopoly of power, which to be frank, isn't a bad thing. The issue is how they have gone about it, and how they have the sanctimonious right-to-be-there-every-year attitude. They have not talked to anyone in footballing world, and have not considered anyone but themselves. What's required is a system whereby not getting into European competition is not the Death of their finances, one where any team can qualify if they are good enough, and when they actually get to the Creme de la Creme, they are not forced to play horribly inferior opposition. Point is it's not a bad idea. just Executed by a bunch of tosspots. End of ramble.

I've got an idea for the "Champions" League (crazybadger). Just allow the team that wins each country's domestic league to enter it!

You could call it something fitting like `European Cup`. You got me thinking now, you could pair this alongside to giving some sort out reward for winning your domestic cup competition, maybe have all them in a European competition, guess you could call it `European Cup Winners Cup` It's too straightforward though, will never happen.

Wild and crazy thinking. Next thing will be suggesting replacing pointless internationals with a Home Championship.

What a load of bs. “Evolve and excite fans around the world!” And there you have it, basically change to suit the US and Far East markets. Are they really trying to persuade fans they did it for the football pyramid The arrogance beggars belief.
