Have faith, the Americans will know well enough a business on the up is much more attractive than one going backwards. They'll have to put something in eventually to convince someone we're a project on the up.
I expect the vast bulk of any transfer funds to come from the proceeds of selling Zaha (perhaps £35-40 million if we're lucky).

You've just said it yourself, in the last 12 months we've committed to spending nearly 40 mil across only 2 players. You don't splash your full budget on 2 players. Committed not spent. I remember when Leeds went into financial meltdown it turned out they were still paying for players who were no longer even with the club. Football is not like any other 'normal,' business. We all assume the club is financially stable but the use of offshore structures who do not need to disclose financial results means we will probably never really know.

Benteke has now scored 3 in the last 7 games (as many as the rest of the team put together over that period). He seems to be gaining a bit of confidence and I expect Hodgson will continue to start him during the rest of the campaign whenever he can. It would not surprise me if he's offered a new contract on reduced terms. Whether he accepts those terms is, of course, a different matter.

Rumours of a Turkish side, I think Fenerbache or Galatasary, but I suspect they wouldn't offer the same wages. My feeling is he would take 50k or around that - as it's more than what others will offer. However, someone else in the Premier League would be a different story. Teams like Villa?

As I've said elsewhere, I think we have more pressing needs than a new striker (midfield and centre back) and if Mateta's loan deal isn't cut short he'll be an option off the bench or as injury cover (although, personally, I'd rather see him given an extended run from the start, but that may not happen till next season. I'm trying to look at this realistically and it seems to me that if Benteke continues to be a goal threat, the club will want to keep him at the right 'price'.

This is entirely feasible. He is above Mateta in the 'Pecking order'.

Nor me. And to be fair, I wouldn't hugely begrudge it either. Schluppy's an important cog for us and has assisted in his last two outings.
