Fulham have to pick up 11 points in 12 games, assuming we get no points next 12 as in that scenario they would likely have a better goal difference. Their next three games are Spurs, Man City and Liverpool, likely zero points. We have Manure, Spurs and West Brom. You would think we would get at least a point against West Brom. Even if we lose all three then most likely scenario I can see is Fulham still need 11 pts to overtake us and only 9 games to do it. Their last six games include Chelsea and an improving Arsenal. For the sake of discussion, they lose those two and then have 7 games to get 11 pts and we have to have 12 game losing run. Not impossible but highly improbable. Mathematically it's possible but realistically I say not. In betting markets we are between 25/1 and 40/1, Fulham are 10/11 . Just can't see it, quite different to Oldham scenario Agree v unlikely. Also after the WBA game we have 3 weeks off - combination of international break and the usual absence from the cup. Ideal time to get Wilf and the geriatrics properly fit and rested.

No, we could not easily have a situation like that.

4 pts from last two games without Wilf Originally posted by Mathers
How about you re-check the stats before chiming in with a sarcastic comment. 20 games without Zaha. 18 defeats. 16 games without scoring. Most sensible fans know that without Wilf and under the current management, the odds of us picking up points are slim.

Both of your points pass muster. Which is the more telling stat though?

In terms of relegation, having considered our remaining fixtures I have concluded we will not attain too many points from them. We could easily have a situation like the end of last season when we only collected a solitary point from 8 games.I appreciate this run came after we had collected 42 points so basically safe, however with our injury situation and perhaps more joining that list, we could well experience a similar run. For me I give a lot more weight to points than stats. I will take an "undeserved" win same as we have to fume on " undeserved " losses or points dropped Fundamentally there is a difference between pessimism from time to time which is part of a Palace fan's DNA , and constant moaning and criticising even when we pick up points. I was delighted to pick up winnings on the Brighton game and have reinvested a small amount on win and win/draw against Manure. We are overdue a scalp against all conventional wisdom

Fulham Fulham Fulham. Can't you discuss anything else? Perhaps Fulham will continue their resurgence. They have a really good squad but (as we seem to forget from our one season in the sun experiences) new promoted teams are handicapped. They are last in the queue for transfers, end up with a largely new squad who all rush in on window close day, and then spend time till mid-season settling the squad. It's catch-up; and they now have caught up. They are 8th on form and that is roughly where their squad belongs. In this context, negating them on Sunday was not a bad result (but dull!). However, even if Fulham close and pass the gap between us - not impossible but unlikely - will all the other teams between us and them also do that? Burnley, Brighton, even wolvers above us, hmm? But Southampton are in free-fall; and Newcastle are even worse. The Toon are now without 2 of their best players until mid-April. We will probably lose the next 2; possibly handsomely in both cases. However, Schlupp and Wickham (!) back today, Wilf for Spuds, Clyne and Mitchell for the Baggies, then McArthur and Ferguson (!!) for the Toffees after the 3 week break. It will look like a new team. I see no reason why we won't be picking up points as we were before that awful Christmas period.

I’d love a Fulham win tomorrow night. It would make the battle for that last relegation spot very interesting now that we are pretty much safe.
