He was outside the box. Agreed poor defending but still an extremely good strike

With the utmost respect, the ball was on the line when he struck it with his left foot and his standing right foot was in the area.

Certainly a strike with venom but I do think that "Wonder goal" is an exaggeration.

The more I think about last night's performance and lack of any kind of tactics I wonder why Roy don't just play a team of kids, like what Villa did (although their hand was forced!!)

We would have learned an awful lot more from doing that, and since Roy obviously isn't fussed about progressing, as is the case in every cup comp under him, he could have given the entire team a rest.

Zaha, Townsend, Benteke, Batshuayi, Ayew and Eze on the pitch - and not a single shot one goal!!!

Tthis is not what the FA is about.

Remember the joy, when we beat Wolwes 10 years ago and the pride of the Anfield-victory in 2003.

Roy has taken away every piece of joy and pride, on an off the pitch, at a time, where we need it more than ever.

GO. NOW.

I have to question the manager's hold on reality.

On paper we had a talented team so why did they run around like 'headless chickens' with absolutely no tactical direction?

Individual 'villain' was PVA (yet again) and the midfield in general with no attacking intent or intelligent distribution. Eze has great talent but is already losing his edge due tactical restrictions on him.

I thought Sakho and Tomkins were solid and Butland not at fault for the goal (it was a rocket) but the team were tactically inept - so who is to blame?
We all know the answer and he should resign.

Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders

What darned "Wonder goal" ?

Overhead kick, beats 3 men, scored from one's own half, mazy dribble, multiple passes leading to goal ????
Traore cuts in, given acres of space, no challenge at all and scores from inside the area.

Gotta agree with Willo on this one

Seems like Roy's comments are distracting people from our own performance.

Wonder goal or not. They had the lead and we weren't able to create a single shot on target.

Doesn't make much difference how it went in - as soon as they were 1-0 up it was game over.

We can no longer keep clean sheets, so it was only a matter of time.

Summary mirrors my take on it

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It was disgraceful, but PVA has been guilty of abject embarrassing defending in recent games.
His whole body language is shouting "I want out".

Did you notice how just turned his back when Traore shot for his goal, PvA couldve/shouldve put his body in the way. He wantx out & it shows.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Interesting thought ? If covid didn't arrive and we had full stadiums at home ,Who thinks Roy would be still in charge ? I think Roy and the board are being shielded from major fan unrest at our tactics and performances.

This is how I know how bad we were last night:

1. I did not raise my voice or shout at the screen once.
2. No expletives were uttered.
3. There were no mystery broken pieces of furniture, scrapes or broken glasses anywhere in my room.
4. I had no bruises on my fist from where I did not slam my hand on the desk once at my abject disgust of the teams performance.
5. I gave a perfectly rationable response to the missus when she asked me how the game was.
6. I had no desire to peruse the holmesdale.net, or any other football material after the game.
7. I really don't care that i havent seen the RH post match interview.

We were utter Sh8t.

To my mind we were even WORSE than that.

Not a shot on target or a chance created throughout the game.Unacceptable.
