Power. Like all strikes.

So union members are losing pay by striking, all for power for the union bosses and to rape the public? Ok then.
.
And Southern are using the strike to pull the wool over the passengers eyes anyway. The service was shocking well before any industrial action started.

Similar to my answer. Apologies for the delay but I just had to run to Hove station to catch a train because the next three were cancelled. Ironic. Yeah, basically I think the unions have stirred up a lot of trouble and the staff are loving the drama. Why ASLEF have got involved as well mystifies me a lot more than the RMT strike. Solidarity my arse.

Now that much is actually very true in fairness. The majority of my delay repay claims in the last 6 months have been on non-strike days. That said, it's partly because I primarily get Thameslink services and when Southern are on strike the Thameslink service is able to run a lot more efficiently. That sounds a bit "I'm alright Jack" I realise. The Southern service is crap all the time though, strike or no strike. It's probably conditioned commuters to be more tolerant, they were pre-conditioned to a god awful service before it even started!

Unions have been raping the public since they became obsolete. They were very much needed at the turn of the 19th century. Once they got the workers the rights they needed, they became obsolete, but to justify their existence they kept pushing for more. Resulting in bringing the country to a grinding halt with general strikes. A bit like the Health and Safety Executive is doing now.

They are now only needed (and very much so) in settling individual's issues, which they are pretty useless at. They only know how to strike, not negotiate. So they hold the public to ransom instead.

I agree with that can't get to work but why force someone to do overtime? Govia shouldn't run a service on such a lean operating model. It all about the profits.

Nobody can force you to work. Hence, THE STRIKE.

Do keep up with the times.

It is not a strike if like today all you do is not do overtime.

Did you not notice the lack of trains today or don't you use them and hence don't know.

Govia sent all season holders an e-mail about it

The reasons for the strike are dubious at best.

You and your 'brethren' really aren't winning over hearts and minds.

And this is all about power. If you had any balls, you would picket London Bridge.

Oh Timmy [Nescafe shake]!

Most of my trains home from work were cancelled today. No email from Govia by the way and yes, they have my email address. I purchase my annual season ticket on their website and have purchased my season ticket in this way for 16 years (albeit it wasn't always Southern's website).

That's called "work to rule", but it is still giving two fingers to the public. That's what the unions do.

And I take milk, but no sugar, in my coffee thanks.
