I agree with you Willo. However, interesting a poster apparently has it on such good authority that Freedman would not be appointed and he has no desire to go back into coaching. I must say that surprises me but he keeps quite a low profile with few public statements. Personally, I would like to hear Freedman say something to that effect himself rather than relying on posters who claim to have knowledge of his views. Are you for real ? First point - I'm not '' claiming '' anything. I am relaying what he said to me on the subject. He does of course have the right to change his mind, but he was quite adamant on the point. And why the hell should he publicly deny being interested in a job where there is no vacancy anyway ? He's not relying on me or any other poster on here to reveal where his ambitions lay. And he certainly doesn't need to explain himself to you

I am of the opinion that it is a tad premature to speculate on any new manager at our club. Roy Hodgson is very much in situ and if he secures survival for us this season and wishes to continue then I suspect the current ownership will extend his contract. Let’s just see first if we do stay up under Hodgson. I still have doubts even with 10 points on the board that he’s style of play as shown at the end of last season and in the recent Brighton and Chelsea matches will keep us up? The Fulham match could have gone the other way with them hitting the woodwork twice plus being the poorest of prem teams at the moment which helped us. Like many I’m bored watching us but happy we are picking up points but want some entertainment which is sadly missing most of the time. Trouble is a change to entertaining football rather than defending for near on 90 mins might relegate us under Hodgson. I think the end of this season is the time for Hodgson to go Unless things go drastically wrong before then? Dyche for me would get our superior squad than Burnley’s playing a mixture of Hodgson’s defensive football together with a more cautious attacking style. Well, I hope so anyway as I don’t want to watch us playing as we do now for much longer? Hodgson has done great for us but like most managers they have a short shelf time at a club before needing to move on.

Thanks for the charming response Neillo! I wasn't for one moment suggesting he "needs to explain himself to me". Why on earth would I?

No problem. Let's both move on to another debate and here's hoping for a great win at Wolves tomorrow night!

what about transferable management skills? do we need someone with any knowledge of football as long as they are good at man-management (gender neutral mind), are well-organised, punctual and enjoy sacking people? Someone from retail or Human Resources, they're very vogue at the moment, a woman, late twenties with bottle blond hair who knows how to be a bitch and b*lls*** her way through the working day. Every other sector of the modern economy follows this model so why shouldn't we? Someone off the Apprentice or Take Me Out even.

True to this formula, if we got Michelle Dewberry, I don't think Parish would like SJ waiting in the car-park to pick her up
