I think the England match is so tight the draw at around 20/1 is not a bad bet.

That means it's about time an exception proved the rule :-) I don't think it will be a draw because both sides have a vested interest in winning at all costs. England because they'll be out if they don't, and Australia because they will not want to go into a game against the Welsh needing a result. Therefore, if it is close after 75 minutes both sides will gamble to win. Australia might just settle for the points if it means turning a losing situation into a draw but England will not. That greatly diminishes the chances of the game ending all even.

Touché. I kind of knew that would come back to bite me, but it's a less likely end of a run than Fiji's points per game one.

How Poite referees the scrum is going to be really interesting because both front rows will be intensely scrutinised. Australia have had endless problems with Poite's interpretation of the scrum in recent seasons and Joe Marler has now been exposed for illegal scrummaging by the IRB and it's likely that he'll be repeatedly pinged for boring in if his body angle continues to be what it's been for the past two weeks (although having Launchberry behind him might help to resolve that.) What is it with British loose heads? Gethin is another one who's got real issues with body position that are rendering his scrummaging ineffective (although in his case it relates to height rather than angle.) The first scrum, the first time the tight head/hooker pop up (which you can guarantee the Australian pair will because they'll be testing Poite over Marler) is going to set the tone. This game is going to be one for the technicians more than the purists. The other thing is that, counter instinctive to their styles of play, Robs***e and Wood have absolutely got to get over the ball and do some fetching. Playing left/right but functionally both as blindsides is going to create a real problem if that's what happens. At the best of times we're going to struggle to get quick ball against Hoopcock but it's going to be very slow indeed if our flankers aren't quick to the breakdown. I suspect that's why Farrell and not Ford has been selected; because much as we'd all like to see an expansive game the reality is that without quick ball, Faz's kicking from hand becomes (more) critical. To that extent, it does tell you that Bomber realises where one of our problems lies.

Bloody hell Syd. Some real indepth technical stuff there. Scrums; I just cannot appreciate any skill as I look. Just seems like a load of big guys pushing against each other before the go on the piss. All looks scruffy to me. Don't really like rugby to be honest. Always seemed like a cheap excuse for a fight to me. I just preferred the fight

I recall last week being advised by certain HOL members that you have to be thoroughly stupid to not understand the Geordie accent.

Have a horrible feeling the Aussie's might do it. they beat the all blacks in the world series and will be under no pressure. They do not have to win the game unlike England.
