I can believe that Trump tried indirect means to get Mueller fired. He correctly knows that Mueller is a part of the desperate opposition prepared to use almost any means to get him out of power.

If I were in Trump's position I'd treat them how they treat him.

Trump could have sacked Mueller, but he wasn't sacked. Everything else is speculation, he said, she said. Also, the reality is that sacking Mueller isn't even 'obstruction'. What matters is 'why' you sacked him, the Democrats would have needed to disprove Trump's reason and prove theirs.

You are just desperate to cling to your dream Maine.

Like I said at the start of this thread, Trump isn't getting removed from anything to do with Russia.....and god knows how many pages on that original statement is just proven again and again.

He isn't going anywhere until at least 2020 and while I'm happy for the Democrats to waste time and energy looking deranged on this....they should be spending time on trying to look sane.

Something they aren't doing very well on.

Absolute pish. Nonsense, total garbage of the highest order.

Mueller is a career patriot and man of honor. Amongst his name being dragged through the mud by Trump he didnt say a single word. Even now he wont defend himself publicly. That is honor and integrity, something Trump knows nothing about whatsoever, never has and never will.

Trump is too much of a coward to do his own dirty work, so being the cowardly sniveling piece of trash that he is he wouldn't put his name on the firing of Mueller.

Trump is going after Biden like he shagged his wife.

Trump is scared of Biden and he is right to be as Joe will end the clown show next year.

True, but I doubt McGahn didnt carry out this repeated request due to wanting to protect Trump.

He wanted to protect himself, as he knows this President has no integrity whatsoever and will sell anyone out. Which incidentally he did, when he tried to pressure McGahn to make a false statement that Trump had NOT asked him repeatedly to fire Mueller.

Kind of vindicated Don McGahns choice.

McGahn is a career washingtonite and knows after Trump is dead and buried he will still need to move in those same circles, so couldn't destroy his own career.

Unlike Barr who will retire in disgrace after this embarrassing and shameful stint as AG.

God, Maine you dislike Trump so much the invective is quite something.

Your intense hatred of this guy provides some amusement if nothing else. It's you who act like he's shagged your wife really. I've not really come across someone with that much anger for an individual they have never actually met.

As for Biden, Trump mocks him....He's going after Biden because there are things to go after.....You probably haven't seen the videos I've seen but it's obvious the angle he'll take....and it's likely to work. But it isn't nice...I'll give you that....though Biden isn't nice either, in my view.

As for Mueller....the guy has just spent way over 20 million dollars and has nothing. ..Anyway you seem to think that my criticism of him goes beyond what I said.

I've no doubt he's a kind of patriot and has a sense of honor.....He's doing what he thinks is right, just like you are. I just disagree with your worldview.

People are grey not black and white caricatures Maine. Like I say it's like you try to emulate Trump....but there's not votes to win here.

Unless there’s any direct link between Biden and his son in whose company the Bank of China apparently invested 1.5 billion. That could bear investigation seeng as the two of them flew out to China together and the deal was made about a week later.

Your support for him and recycling of his personal twitter rants and his sycophants talking points is also certainly a source of amusement for me, Stirlingsays.

There you go again, having a pop and Mueller. "He spent 20 mil" and "He has nothing". Total garbage, man. Its a pack of lies.

Investigations cost what they cost. He had a remit and he delivered on it. Holding Mueller personally accountable for the cost of the investigation is the argument of a 3 year old - you are smarter than that I think.

As for not having anything, I must ask again, for the 3rd time, and I hope you may now answer: Have you read the Mueller report?

If you want to opine on it, unlike Lindsay Graham, you should read the thing first.

Graham did provide possibly the finest moment in a congressional hearing in the history of the world though, so fair play to him:

As for Biden, Trump is s***ting his pants about the fire fighters union and so he should. That is pure Trump blue collar base and they have announced for Biden.

As I have said before, even Hillary f***ing Clinton won the popular vote. Biden will be in good shape to end the clown show.

Are you seriously going to talk about dodgy business dealings with foreign powers?

Think Trump has a few issues there.

Next to Trump Biden is clean as a whistle.

The only parallel I’m making is that they’re all in it together. 1,500,000,000 dollars is quite a lot don’t you think?
Why don’t you try thinking of Trump as a real life Jonah Ryan and laugh at him?

If that's true then good for you.....still, it doesn't come across that way Maine.

Yeah I support Trump, but none of what happens from here is all that important. My view of America is that it's lost anyway. Trump was a passing two fingers from an America that's unfortunately disappearing.

Still, I've had a lot of fun with it. However, it's on a timer.

Well, I don't see it that way.

'He had a remit'? No, the FBI, which was full of Obama appointments and 'never Trumpers' like Mueller gave themselves that remit.

I think a form of investigation was warranted into the extent of foreign interference (if it's a little hypocritical) but it became politicised. What should have been apolitical instead turned into a waste of money for political reasons. It expanded into other areas looking for reasons to persecute Trump when the evidence wasn't there. So sorry but I don't think it's good enough to excuse investigations that end up costing vast sums of money based upon political partisanship that result in nothing.....that's what banana republics do.

In fact I hear there are repercussions coming down the pipe for how this whole thing was handled.

I've answered this previously, but I don't remember if it was to you or not.

No, I haven't read the Mueller report. I've read summaries of it.

I did however read that the Washington Post reported that Barr made a phone call to Mueller after he released his summary and asked him if anything he wrote had been inaccurate and Mueller replied in the negative. Like I said, Mueller wanted justifications for his work.....and that's about all he can grab onto.

Mueller made no recommendations for action on Trump.

Announced for Biden? How can anyone announce for Biden, are you talking about the democratic candidacy?

Personally I kind of hope that the Democrats choose Biden.....it'll be a lot of fun.

I have just looked at this thread for the first time in a while, as I get bored reading the comments from those trying to defend the indefensible and repeating the Goebbels like propaganda that emerges on Trump's Twitter and Fox every day. The idea that the US economy is doing well because of Trump is always good for a laugh.

It's good though to read your contributions which state the truth as I, and I suspect most objective, observers see it. Barr is acting as Trump's personal attorney and not as the AJ of the USA. Supported by the GOP, Fox and Trump himself Barr is trying to whitewash the report and consign it to history asap. In doing do he appears to gradually be painting himself into a corner of his own making.

I am not so sure that the Dems asking for the unredacted report is sensible. If any of that got out into public view it could screw up the ongoing cases which could then impact the chances of getting to the truth on Trump himself. Better to work with what they have and let the cases proceed. Having Mueller testify is going to be interesting.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

A very conversative estimate of the value of proceeds of crime, assets and so on, from Paul Manafort alone is $30 million, so the investigation either cost nothing or made a sizeable profit for the treasury.
