One name keeps coming to my mind Jack Wilshire - he’s still only 28 and West Ham want rid. Before everyone starts giving me pelters - yes I fully appreciate his injury and off field issues. But if you could get a fully fit and focused Jack Wilshire - in his last full England start he absolutely run the show. Fully fit and firing IMO at the moment he’s better than Mount, Foden etc.. It would be a massive risk I accept that - but if Hodgson could put his arm around him and say Mate look it’s last chance saloon to fulfill your immense potential - go out there and grab it. And it worked, what a player you would see..!!! As I said it would be a huge risk and I ain’t advocating it - but if it worked a fully fit and firing Jack Wilshire would be sight to behold..!! If Jack Wilshire finishes his career on its current path will be a terrible waste of talent and a crying shame for English football - there is a hell of a footballer in there if only someone can get him fit, focused and firing..!! According to Sky it was 20mil, maybe that includes add ons. Zaha is not a centre forward and today we had no shots on target. Have lost all faith in Benteke, 4 goals since 2017 and Wickham just gets injured getting out of his car, hence we have no offers for either and who would be silly enough to buy or loan them with their huge salaries and lack of any form. Looks like another duff window as far as SP concerned very disappointed yet again! Have to say after todays game, zaha looks anything like a centre forward. However I think it proved my point that we need a creative central midfielder.

Remember we had no Batsman today - IMO don’t see how Batsman and King would work together, then ATM we have Trekkers too - all too similar..!! If we are going to splash the cash Benrahma is more like what we need - someone that is more versatile and can play wide and through the middle. COYP

Our team is in dire need of creativity, someone that can hold up the ball and pass. A new striker won't change anything as there is nobody to provide and create chances. Considering Roy's preference in deploying defensive minded central midfielders, our only attaking outlet are through the flanks and someone like Benrahma might fit the bill.

I think we should persevere with Eze, and one he is more matchfit I think he could become the creative midfielder Palace need?

One problem with that is Roy. Roy would never trust him centrally. The only central midfield role Roy recognises is defensive. I think we’ll see Eze get more and more frustrated being played out of position and ultimately find him self on the bench. Then Roy can get back to shoe horning Luka back in with his 3 defensive midfielders

In his pomp one of the best midfielders in the country but he would be another highly paid flop, let WH get shafted with his wages.

Wilf is no center forward. We have to get some movement up top and the absence of a decent striker will bite us on the backside sooner or later if we don’t address it. Bats is a start but we need a mobile striker who can run channels and offer some physical presence. But the biggest thing we need is a far more proactive response from Roy when we go behind. I’m afraid it’s just not in his nature.

Roy's quote after todays game: "We think that our squad is pretty much the squad that can see us through this season and see us through this season well". Hmmmm

It didnt take Roy long to knock all the attacking flair out of Eze. He probably made more tackles in that game than in his entire career
