Sine Roy was appointed we have played Burnley seven times and won 4, lost 3, no draws. Does not paint Dyche as a master tactician compared to Roy. I think he would be a safe pair of hands which would not good enough to many on here.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Who knows. ‘Give me Sport’ reckon Eddie Howe ‘tanked’ on his interview with Palace, causing him to resurrect Celtics interest. I don’t normally comment on all the speculative ‘in the know’ nonsense (as that is exactly what I reckon it is in most cases) but, as a manager (not football) that regularly employs people I certainly would not be wasting mine or anyone else’s time interviewing people for a job that was filled ‘all those’ weeks ago. Strangely I would consider that I might find better ways to occupy my time. The cynic in me might even suggest that the timing (yesterday afternoon) of the breaking of the story below makes Lampard even more likely as it seemingly takes another front runner (Howe) out of the game. With Burnley surviving then I’d imagine Dyche is also unlikely, so if Roy is stepping down it’s not a reach to think that Lampard could be in the frame somewhere.

The Times don’t even reckon Lampard is in the frame? Howe (who I was highlighting) has moved out to 11/1 with the bookies and The Telegraph reckons Lampard is favourite. That was rather my point - look at the different sources and decide if my ‘who knows’ comment is more accurate than any journalist, at any level or any claimed ‘in the know’ on here. The point being, of course, is that in a multi-million pound Company, this is unlikely to leak, hence the myriad of rumours and counter rumours and any comment from anyone outside of the inner sanctum (journalists, click baiters and ‘in the knows’ included) is, in my opinion, nothing more than an attempt at educated guesswork. (But at least I put a source and a link - credible or not - I could simply have said “I’ve heard that Eddie Howe is not coming here” presented it as fact and hoped for the best. Would that have made for a better debate? Is it therefore better to present no source for discussion and simply claim to be “in the know”?) It’s good to raise this stuff to debate who we reckon we would do a decent job but that’s all and that is why I rarely comment on these posts.

There are two types of leak. Firstly Parish has a few cronies that he uses if he wants to disseminate some snippets that he doesn't want to be directly attributable for and secondly there are quite a few people involved in negotiations other than Parish and the potential manager or player and it's often the agent who leaks potential deals. The original story about Lampard supposedly came from someone who was at the training ground and saw Lampard being shown around. It may or may not be true but it is quite plausible. Like yourself I don't often comment on these stories because quite frankly I am bored with these threads that just go round and round in circles and just wish they would get it over with

My memory my be faulty but when we appointed Roy I don't think he was favourite I think I was surprised as he hadn't really been on the radar? So maybe it will be someone from left field.
