The most welcome and unexpected win over Brighton has of course been hugely beneficial and drastically reduced our chances of relegation.

Fulham need to win on Saturday, for us a draw will do.
After our game, Fulham then have games against Liverpool and Man City.

With the greatest respect, Willo, I believe we are playing Fulham on Sunday (ko 12 noon)

I would never presume to speak for Willo but, with the greatest respect, his comment does not suggest that a Fulham win and a Palace draw can happen simultaneously at the weekend, merely that these are the minimum objectives of each side. Unless of course we manage to draw 1-2 or Fulham win 0-0 which I'm pretty sure Willo was not suggesting. Mind you last night Brighton won 1-2 so who knows!

There is no realistic chance of Palace being relegated this season. You can play with your abacus to mathematically conjure up such a possibility but it won't happen.

45/1 available at Paddy Power and Betfair. After a week which included 2 turgid performances and yet 4 points we are pretty much safe with a dozen games to go.

Did you by any chance hear we beat Brighton without Wilf?

Unlike my previous post this is intended to be sarcastic

You were correct on the odds being against us, you will be delighted to know against Brighton I backed us to win and win/draw and made a vey nice return.

I may not be sensible in your view but now I know where the money for next season's two ST's will come from

How about you re-check the stats before chiming in with a sarcastic comment. 20 games without Zaha. 18 defeats. 16 games without scoring.

Most sensible fans know that without Wilf and under the current management, the odds of us picking up points are slim.

In terms of relegation, having considered our remaining fixtures I have concluded we will not attain too many points from them.
These games include encounters against Man Utd,Tottenham,Everton,Chelsea,Leicester,Man C, Arsenal and Liverpool.

We could easily have a situation like the end of last season when we only collected a solitary point from 8 games.I appreciate this run came after we had collected 42 points so basically safe, however with our injury situation and perhaps more joining that list, we could well experience a similar run.

Fulham have to pick up 11 points in 12 games, assuming we get no points next 12 as in that scenario they would likely have a better goal difference.

Their next three games are Spurs, Man City and Liverpool, likely zero points.

We have Manure, Spurs and West Brom. You would think we would get at least a point against West Brom. Even if we lose all three then most likely scenario I can see is Fulham still need 11 pts to overtake us and only 9 games to do it.

Their last six games include Chelsea and an improving Arsenal. For the sake of discussion, they lose those two and then have 7 games to get 11 pts and we have to have 12 game losing run.

Not impossible but highly improbable.

Mathematically it's possible but realistically I say not.

In betting markets we are between 25/1 and 40/1, Fulham are 10/11 .

Just can't see it, quite different to Oldham scenario
