Mistakes are not made by any manager, least of all ours, players on the pitch make the mistakes and managers have to watch them do it just like us.

Yeah, you're correct. Who else would put Kane on corners or start Schlupp up front when two internationals are sat on the bench?

so isnt it a managers job to plan for mistakes based on anticipated players mistakes/attributes? Roy is a fraud. How does one get opportunities to manage all throughout their log lives when they are so incapable?

Historically managers of the quality of Ferguson and Wenger still received their share of criticism.
I don't see why a lesser manager such as Hodgson should be exempt from criticism.
If a manager takes the plaudits for success on the field, it is reasonable that he should also take criticism when things go wrong.
To say it's just down to the players- well why bother with managers in that case?

I'd say its the managers job to make good decisions.

There's very little evidence of this.

He's incompetent and a liability.

To say he is incompetent is a ridiculous statement, you don't have a managerial career that long by luck.

People are talking about Howe as a replacement, his decisions got his team relegated.

There isn't a perfect answer, but having Tomkins and Sakho as CB pairing is a good move, our best pairing in the past.

Nobody is happy with the last two performances and it's all about opinions but throwing out the two international strikers on the bench thing is a bit disingenuous.

We all know that Benteke missed 20 from 23 good chances and was statistically the worst striker in Europe in Roy's first season. His head went and has never recovered. He also never covered himself in glory on Monday.

Bats dropping after Monday also needs no explanation after a run of games. So the manager tried something different.

Both players were on the pitch at the business end of the game along with Riedewald who's weak defending contributed to the first goal.

Last year I played golf with an ex player. Premier league and Championship. He was quite talented and the type of player Palace are used to.
I was asking why, when it it is all going wrong on the pitch that the players don't just start playing like they used to on the park when they were growing up given that they were all very talented.
The short answer was that since he was young - same as his team mates - they had tactics and responsibility to team mates drummed into them.
Stick to the plan until the Manager tells you different come what may.
He told me of one well known Manager he played under who just absolutely insisted on attack constantly and they kept losing.
The players tried to explain it to him but to no avail.
So in our case the Manager is responsible for the plan, tactics and the way we play.
The players just try and carry it out.
Roy's plans and tactics are shocking now!
He has to go

That's what Klopp tells his players and they won the title last year.

Stop sounding so sensible.

It's not criticism though is it, if it was constructed and written in a way of suggestion it would be, but just saying it's all his fault and now he needs to go etc isn't is it.
Also just because a squad is lesser doesn't necessarily mean the manager is to.

My suggestion would be to replace the manager before we're relegated or the fanbase walks away due to boredom.

He fecked up England and Liverpool, and is taking us backwards.

If you think we're progressing under Hodgson then you're deluded.

I don’t think he should go at present but reserve the right to be critical as is my right as a fan .
Hodgson himself has said it’s the best squad he’s had at Palace and that his problem is now whom to leave out.
I’m not for one minute suggesting it is all his fault.
The usually consistent Dann has had two poor games in a row and we have missed chances in both games and that is not down to Hodgson.
Being a supporter for me is about supporting the club.
It does not mean blind loyalty to a manager even when you disagree with his selections or tactics.
Some think Hodgson can do no wrong which is clearly absurd and I honestly don’t see why he shouldn’t be beyond constructive criticism.
In the spirit of being constructive is there anything you would like to see him doing differently?
