Absolutely. I sense a feeling of unease amongst our supporters who until quite recently concluded that survival was a foregone conclusion.A glance at our fixtures towards the end of the season, I suspect fills many with a real sense of dread and foreboding. I predicted that we would lose against Southampton based purely on watching them and comparing squads, the same will more then likely happen against Watford and Sheffield United at home, we play the waiting game and hope to wear teams down and although I did see some small encouraging signs last night we were outplayed fair and square which is exactly what I had imagined. If Kelly hadn't made that great pass to Ings that allowed him to score against us we would have won that game at St Mary's because we were in total control there weren't we. I predict us to win or at least get a draw at the King Power so I'm confident we will amass the required points eventually.

No shots on target...A disgraceful performance by the players and the manager. Even before the game I was surprised Ward didn't start. Kelly has done a good enough job standing in but he's not a proper right-back. I could moan about Roy subbing Kouyate and then Tosun but what good would it do? Bottom line - we didn't show any fight and that is why I am pissed off.

He thinks whenever we lose that we were either unlucky or we were robbed, or that the opposition were really lucky. He won't hear a word against Parish or Hodgson. I haven't asked him yet, but he probably thinks Neil Shipperley was just holding a hotdog instead of his todger. Just saying.

That may be so, however as I mentioned I could never envisage us turning around a 2 goal deficit at Everton or scoring 3 goals at home as Bournemouth did against Brighton.Or indeed coming from behind to beat Leicester as Burnley did at the weekend. Edited by Willo (22 Jan 2020 3.37pm) Quite agree. That supposedly healthy points gap between us and 18th place has diminished somewhat. We need to win a couple of games soon to widen the gap again and not rely on others to drop points.Much better to be masters of our own destiny.

People are panicking unnecessarily, you only have to watch Southampton's performance at Leicester to understand how good they are at the moment, there is nothing in this result to suggest anything is wrong with our direction this season ...Man City fans are still talking about how well we played against them for heavens sake!

Four points separate us from Manchester united who are sitting in fifth place, everyone needs to stop being very silly!

I actually think we are falling into that category (which we've not been in for a long time) where we have a manager who, let's face it has done amazingly and guided us to our highest ever Prem finish... But we are all getting frustrated at the same times with this really ugly and negative football... I think Willo said earlier about his Villa supporting mate and I echo that with the vast majority of my good friends who are all Chelsea... They all think I'm mad criticising RH... They bring up the cold hard facts of his achievements with us and literally say it's better the devil you know.... Strange scenario for us watching week in, week out I'll admit.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

For avoidance of doubt I was not heaping criticism of Hodgson to my A.Villa supporting chum.In response to him advocating that we were guaranteed survival, I asserted that I never viewed our current state of affairs in such an optimistic light but I never went as far to opine that I felt we would be relegated!

But for their blip in letting Wolves come back from 0-2, Soton are, after Liverpool, the form team over the last six games (we were the only other team to take a point off them during that run, a run that included victories against Spurs and Chelsea).
