Or talk to her about it. I know, that sounds like grown up advice and a bit boring, but in the end, its a lot easier when you just talk about these things. People have very different outlooks and expectations - Plus it usually prevents them trying to kill themselves in your front garden on a Thursday night to prove their love.

And by online dating, I mean Adult 'Friend' finder. You have to pay for that. If you want to know some good websites for making friends using only pictures of your junk, PM me.

I met my wife via online dating after five or six years online. People tend to be looking for different things, from one night stands, to friends, to relationships and so on. Just like normal life. Generally I'd email people for a week or so - that way when it comes to meeting up, you've got a good idea of what their expectations are, and for a first date I'd go pretty low key, rather than a full on date. That way you get a feel for the chemistry as well, before anything goes further. My experience was it was better to be upfront about what you're looking for and your expectations etc. Some people I met, I really liked but neither of us really saw a future, but for a time it was good for both of us - Just like life in general. Don't go looking 'for love', anymore than you would if you were out in a club or bar etc. It'll find you when you least expect it. Online dating really works best as a numbers game (i.e you get to meet a lot more people and thus narrow down the odds of finding that someone).
Maybe he can tell us more why past relationships have all fizzled out. These dates all seem to be gold diggers but what has gone wrong in past relationships

The term "gentlemen" is definitely the wrong label for them. Same with a "Gentleman's Club". I Googled what they were and I tell you what, the stuff they get up to in one is NOT the behaviour of a bowler hat wearing cricket fan in my book. I always assumed the phrase was because they 'were professional in their outlook and upfront' rather than normal encounters which are invariably drunken, deceitful and often involve much confusion between the involved parties. Friend of my wife used to be an escort (Friend of ours used to run an escort agency). It all sounded very matter of fact and friendly, lacking all of the usual pressures, manipulations, expectations and duplicity of a relationship. Of course it lacks the passion, that can only exist where you're having sex with someone who probably could kill you, or be murdered by you. That's what passion is, that knowledge that you love someone so much, that you tolerate the 'little things' that partners end up doing life for.

True story, of a guy who worked for me when I managed a Works store. This girl, who he'd treated really badly, ended up slashing her wrists in his front garden and wailing like a banshee. Unsurprisingly, this didn't 'heal their relationship' at all, but she did get sectioned and the help she needed. It also cleared up why she was going out with him, because she was definitely out of his league.

I always thought it just meant coke sniffing alpha wannabes that put a pair of shiny shoes on and think they are the dog's bollocks rather than self absorbed saddos that just have a few extra quid in their pockets.

Yes but in all honesty would any of you date or more than date a woman if you found out she had been an escort?

If she had just gone on dates with men to keep them company then I'd be fine with it. If "escort" is a term to dress up "hooker" then no. But most blokes date girls that they know aren't virgins.

One of the young lads in the football team I managed was engaged to a girl who tried many times to top herself before succeeding. He came back to play after a few weeks and the rest of the lads decided to try and break the ice by singing in the showers to cheer him up.... it was all going well till our centre forward sang "Girlfriend In A Coma" by the Smiths and everyone went quiet....
