So what do these people want to happen then? What do you want to happen? Do you want the election of Trump reversed just because you don't like the result?
Also the suffragettes were campaigning for the vote - these current protesters have the vote. It is also unclear as to whether the suffragettes violent antics made any difference to women getting the vote; certainly many female suffragists thought the suffragettes were a liability that hindered their progress. The First World War and its aftermath did more to get them the vote than window smashing. People who use violence to further their idealogical agendas should jog on.

Exactly Democracy is ok providing they get their own way. Was in the US at election time and it was a mirror image of the referendum. These protestors are not doing democracy any good

I don't disagree about the debt. However, I do believe that we are at the crux of the fourth industrial revolution and over the next ten years things are going to change considerably.

There will be new ways of generating energy, new ways of manufacturing such as 4g printers, driverless cars will not only change the way that cars are bought & sold but also change finance around motors and we will see nano tech become more evolved.

California still is the centre of technological development and I believe that Donald will benefit from this. How much he does, is up to him and his agenda.

As previously said, I don't like the man (some of what he has done is horrible) but I do like free marketeers and people who encourage risk taking. That is how industry evolves.

Let's wait and see what he does and not be bigots. Things could be better in five years time.

Completely agree re- tech and energy, but aside from that i believe the next few years (or so) are going to be tougher than many think.

The peaceful demonstrations today in many countries were fine and powerful.

Violent people exit you cannot win against the police army anyway.

It was alarming to hear the new president inaugural speech not a mention of the majority who did not vote for him just lies and bigotry.

I could only think of more robust election systems as a method of filtering out extremes of right and left, the french system is supposed to do that anything to cut the risk down.

Indeed. But not if you are left wing, then it is deemed necessary. Like the *freedom fighters* who kill innocent people to get their message across.

Luckily for us Gusset is not a freedom fighter.... he's just a tool.

Are you going to pop round and smash his windows and damage his car?

Why do all these stupid people make demonstrations all over the world because one man gets a job by being voted into power in a democratic way.
Trump whether you like him or not is now the most powerful man in the world and there is nothing anyone can do about it except maybe to assassinate him.
What a lot of people forget is that he cannot just go ahead and do things he feels like doing as he has to get it through two power houses and through his advisors and senior staff.
All this crap about him pressing the nuclear button is pure rubbish. There are procedures that have to be done and applied before any nuclear weapon is fired.
It is not all doom and gloom as the demonstrators would have you think.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

If Trump in cahoots with his Secretary of Defence - has to be agreed by both - wants to push the nuclear button he can and only mutiny would stop it.

It's not the most powerful position on earth for nothing.

I have to say the crowds on the marches did seem impressive, but alas It was the usual rentamob cagoul wearing 'white moms' I expected to see. The first person I saw just 9 miles away in The Bronx when I got off the subway was a head to foot fully clad lady in a burqa, I remember thinking these are the sort of people these morons should be marching for. I'm also willing to bet that there were no marches being held in Jeddah, Islambad or Sana'a....

Why not engage with the peaceful protest and avoid civil strife down the line?

Do you need 50% of the country hating you as president?

If you make no attempt at unifying and listening to peaceful protest then it will be violent won't it.

True up to a point, except for the usual suspects hell bent on trouble. Also I think you are missing the point. It was a Women' march against Trump & its the same old faces everytime. You never see these same people marching in the streets against Islamic repression of women.
