Stupidity that has cost me a lump sum of £10,000, a promised refund of £3,500 that was then refused because they made an "error" in their advice, and then another £500 annually, until my last day. But good always triumphs over evil, so no worries eh ?

When the UK entered the EU we were nicknamed the “dirty man of Europe”. Tough regulation and enforcement helped change that narrative, but the sewage scandal, and our government and regulators’ inability to properly hold the polluting water industry to account, has brought that shameful name back. Leaving the EU just gave them licence to kill. No wonder we have so many people fleeing this country in small boats. When do you plan to go?

Our ancient sewage system does not have enough capacity to cope with demand. Now some people on this site, on in particular, keeps telling us how great mass immigration is. He and his type have no capacity to think beyond tomorrow. The water system now needs to be massively upgraded in a once in several generations kind of way, and it's going to cost a huge amount of money and time. Guess who will be paying this vast amount, not to mention, putting up with all the disruption caused by the groundworks? Yes, it will be us paying increased bills for several generations to cope with the influx of immigrants who have contributed only for a short time. That is, of course, if they have paid any tax at all. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (18 May 2023 10.27pm)

If Palace lose on Saturday I am sure you will blame it on them in some way. You are as obsessed as you are wrong.

Whereby you cannot see any negatives to our current immigration. ! When have I ever suggested that? There are positives and negatives involved in almost every situation. The skill is to take maximum benefit from the positives and minimise and cope with the negatives. You don't pretend things can just be completely changed because you don't like the negatives. If you do that exclusively, as some do, then you ignore the positives and don't gain the benefits.

You know, reminds me of when I was a boy. Jumpers for goal-posts? Swimming in sewage? I mean isn't it? Damien Green Tory MP thinks so too. And Therese Coffee thinks it will be expensive, not for those responsible for of this graft, but the long-suffering public. You wouldn't think Venice was an advert for water purity would you, but it is 70% against the UKs 17%. Don't expect much from labour either. The clean-up promised by the water mafia probably won't happen, but the continued exodus of funds into foreign bank accounts will.

There are no droughts in the EU. We all hold hands and drop our heads (God forbid that we actually pray) and rain falls. It's f***ing brilliant in the EU. Like a private member's club, only better because there are poor and cute Eastern European women too. There are loads to go around. Rejoin, I beg you all.

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (18 May 2023 10.27pm) My MP has told us that Southern Water are to decouple the rainwater egress out of the sewage system so that the rainfall doesn’t force the overflow of the mixture into the sea and rivers (presumably only rainwater will in future). However this will involve digging up every road over a period of time. Huge expense coming our way! However, it is also planned to increase fines for serious breaches to a maximum of £250,000,000. I appreciate that these sort of fines amounts will likely never be imposed, but the range of financial penalties has increased to a level where the mind will be ‘focused’…
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |
