Dom Fifield does an article in The Athletic today identifying Sarr, Behnrama, Brewster and Edoaurd as the for targets and feels we’ll be doing well to get one of them.
I like Behnrama but he does seem to like to operate from the left where we already have Schlupp , Zaha and Eze that can play there.
If Zaha stays and occupies one of the two striker positions in a 4-4-2 then that would leave Bats, Ayew and Edouard/Brewster competing for the other position which seems excessive and could lead to unhappy players.
That leaves Sarr who is really quick and skilful and who would take some of the pressure off Zaha.
Townsend has started this season well but has needed some competition for a while and we sorely miss real pace and drive down the right.
For the sake of balancing the squad my choice would be Sarr.
If we get two of the four players I would assume we are planning for the exit of Zaha.

Things are hotting up, Palace still looking to close at least 2 Deals also may be a loan deal for Reiss Nelson from Arsenal.

We have 4 targets which are: Benrahma, Brewster, Edouard, Sarr

I am still expecting it to be Benrahma & Brewster.

Benteke looking likely to move on as are Innis, Wickham,

Remember deals can still be done with EFL Clubs 16th of October I believe so fringe players could still move on.

Could be an exciting final day window.

Thanks for the update. Cheers.

Excellent analysis. If Benteke leaves, which is on the cards, then Brewster coming in would be a good move if we can make it. If we could possibly bring in Sarr rather than Benrahma by 16th October, that would be amazing.

Sarr is being linked with Man U if they can’t sign Sancho - it would be quite a coup if we got him.
Edouard is interesting. He’s scored a lot but there are apparently questions about his attitude, of course that could be because he wants a move but he’s a player you’d expect to be attracting more attention than he seems to be.

Sarr, Behnrama, Brewster and Edoaurd.
We seem to be settling the bar high in terms of quality- which is fantastic news! We’ve seen how well Eze has settled and his quality instantly improves us. This is what I love to see quality over numbers in the door. If we only secured one of those 4 we’d be doing very well - and would of been an amazing window. Edouard would be my preference but I suspect with his Celtic connection Leicester will be where he ends up. (Toilet of a city though).

One of them is an okay window. All goes out of the window if Zaha goes on deadline day. In reply to Dazza's post, as for Nelson on loan, that has been mooted as a deal if they buy Zaha. Nelson permanent plus 45 mil please or get lost. However, Nelso has no interest in coming here. Wants to play for Arsenal, we have already seen Zaha and his Arsenal rubbish.
Come on lads, can we have a reality check here: we may get someone, we aren't in for three or four - certainly not the above. The whole contingency is Zaha, he wants to leave, and will kick up if a half decent offer comes in. We haven't replaced him and probably won't: just like every other season, we will have deficiencies in the squad.

If we get one (sarr for me), wilf stays and we get anything for wickham and benteke it will be better than Okay.

A reality check is of course part of the palace supporters health warning, but while we are still in the window please allow us at least hope.

Zaha won't go on deadline day unless we have a suitable replacement lined up and ready to sign. Parish isn't that stupid (I hope)

Probably why we are getting linked with players like Sarr etc is that we are negotiating there terms etc in case there is late interest in Zaha

I know the heading of this thread is signings but I note in terms of outgoings that Scott Dann is being linked with Fulham and Burnley.
I think he’s been a really good player for us and if true it would seem to be a business decision.
His contract ends this season and we’re unlikely to offer him a new one.
It’s possibly a last chance to realise a fee for him while at the same time reducing the wage bill.
It could also indicate that Kouyate is now seen as primarily a central defender with Riedewald seen a viable option in midfield.
If Benteke and Dann (and Meyer?) depart it certainly frees up the wage bill for further signings in attacking areas.
