Those unable or unwilling to accept that is the truth, in our culture, will need the stick approach. But you said earlier that these very indoctrinated types need to be educated that what they're doing is wrong first. Who is going to do the educating if they're growing up in an environment of indoctrination? Your views on this come across as being very idealistic whilst avoiding the crux of the matter. It's all very well looking for solutions but there's a problem that needs fixing urgently first. If there was gas leak would you try to stop it initially then see where the problem lies and fix it or would you just ignore it and let it blow up destroying people and property, then wonder why it had happened and vow never to let it happen again?
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

(What’s left of it). Also, what happens if this is due to factors outside of people just “running the wrong software”? Why should we take the risk of yet more social engineering with our children at stake?

Sanjeev Baskar in an old episode of Silent Witness showed the best way to deal with this. His step daughter was being groomed and he found out so decided to set up a dodgy business meeting with the ringleader at a remote location. He then proceeded to smash the hell out of the bloke with a golf club which left him in a rather bad way. Sounds about fair to me.

Who is going to do the educating if they're growing up in an environment of indoctrination? We do. We ban all faith schools. We teach our values to all children regardless of their background. Then we find ways to monitor any preacher suspected of fostering hate and alternative values, using all the tools available to our security services. Adults present a more difficult challenge for which the stick will have to be used more often. Nevertheless there are still various interventions we can make. Your views on this come across as being very idealistic whilst avoiding the crux of the matter. It's all very well looking for solutions but there's a problem that needs fixing urgently first. Of course but the underlying problems will still be there and it's at them I am trying to look. If there was gas leak would you try to stop it initially then see where the problem lies and fix it or would you just ignore it and let it blow up destroying people and property, then wonder why it had happened and vow never to let it happen again? Yes and that's pretty much what I am suggesting. Having a follow up plan seems essential to me.

Sounds to me that the ringleader would end up in hospital, his assailant in prison and his daughter in severe danger.
