Time to consider a re-vamp in midfield perhaps?

McArthur works hard and deserves his place but Luka is a liability with his mis-placed and backwards passing and inability to hold the ball. Kouyate has no technical ability and can't hold the ball either.

Surely time to see if Hughes has the ball holding and passing ability we lack ?

The lack of a ball holder cost us dearly in the last 10 minutes.

It was unexpected that both our 'No.9s' would score but I thought Ayew won more headers than Benteke. If only he could use his skill to get crosses in. On balance he must be rested and Olise given a run.

What happens when Eze returns is a very interesting point.

If he wasn't fouled every time he tried perhaps he could.

Utter rubbish, our players on the pitch need to learn from this, Viera did the correct thing by bringing on Tomkins to replace the injured Édouard.

Sorry, but this is total dross. What’s your logic? Bringing on an extra defender never works, just invites pressure. Simple as that. We were comfortable until that substitution.

If Edouard was injured, it should have been Schlupp or Mateta to chase down balls. There was no outlet when we won possession. Vieira will know he messed up there. I don’t want to fault him too much because over the 90 mins we were great.

At the time I was surprised that Tompkins was introduced. Schlupp would have added to the press that was working so well, and with Arsenal having so many forwards on the pitch at that time, they would have been even more vulnerable on a turnover.

Plenty of positives from the game, but wins are now needed going forward

So I was taken by an Arsenal season ticket holder and sat behind the managers for the game. Trust me, they knew they got out of jail and think Vieira is a master.

Full of praise for Palace how we took control of the game.

Shame we couldn't hold on, but the Palace support was superb and heard them throughout.

Well done Palace, team, supporters and Arsenal fans witnessing how good we were!!

Zaha Eze Raki Saki Banks Hughes plus half a dozen up and coming juniors. Mind boggling. I reckon we will get Gallagher

Chill out. It was only a game or two ago that Luka sprayed multiple brilliant passes into Oduoard and everyone was saying he was back to his best.

He was okay tonight, but admittedly not great. Although I would point out that on multiple occasions when we've taken him off for Kouyate, we've conceded late.

Most frustrating thing is that in spite of how well we have played since the Chelsea game, we're still sitting in 14th. Whereas Brighton are sitting in 4th and, I would argue, haven't played any better than us on average across all games so far.

Maybe it's down to the shift in the way we play: under Potter Brighton started playing attractive, possession-based football, but struggled to pick up the points their performances deserved. Now that's bedded in and they've added a couple more players to suit their style, they've managed to change this.

We're now in a similar situation with a manager new to the Prem (at manager level), and a revolutionary change in the way we play football. Hopefully with a little more bedding in and a couple more changes in personnel to suit the system (Hughes for Milivojevic?) we can start converting performances into maximum points.

We also haven't really played a poor team yet (apart from Spurs), so it'll be interesting to see how we do in the games where we're expected to win points, which was one of Roy's strengths. Newcastle next, so we're about to find out.

Olise has played cumulative 45 mins so far this season. 1 goal and 1 assist. Ayew has contributed naff all.

Tonight he got them wrong. Tomkins was clearly not the right choice to come on. Equally I am not surprised we have conceded 2 x 94th min equalisers when Kouyate has been on the pitch. He’s a f***ing liability and the s*** headed clearance tonight that gave them the corner sums him up perfectly.

Harsh in my opinion.

Olise is a teenager adjusting to the Premier League and returning from injury. He's looked fantastic when he has played but you don't just chuck kids like that into the deep end as it can be counterproductive. He'll start when he's ready.

I had no issue with Tomkins coming on and helping us defend our lead and thought it made sense. Didn't work, pity.

The bottom line is that, despite missing our two best players, we've dominated a far bigger and better club away from home and only been undone in the 94th minute. We all would have taken 2-2 before the game but it's only the manner in which it happened that is disappointing.

That being said I'm thoroughly enjoying watching us, it's the best football I can ever remember us playing and that was all I wanted under Roy.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. If you don't bring subs on (a la Roy) or you bring them on and they have no impact, then you have no tactical nous. If you bring them on and they score or set up goals then you picked the wrong team in the first place. Who'd be a manager?

No, no, and no again.

This team is playing 10 times better than it ever could have under RH.

Onwards and upwards.

Not really fair to compare now is it look at the money that has been spent.

What is the point in looking better if keep throwing away points also we dont look better at the back we cant defend set pieces at all.

Played well again, annoying but move on. We now have a run of games to end of November where we can really get some points.

No surprise to see the footballing geniuses on here already starting to moan about PV subs.

Moaners always gonna moan.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Last season was a depressing sh-t show. I dreaded watching every match. This year, it's actually fun to watch us play, and we play with a lot of heart and energy. I'll back these players any day.

Yes, I'm upset about the 4 lost points to BHA and Arsenal, but we have had the worst possible luck so far, and we're still in 14th place.

I look forward to us kicking on this season, and aiming higher next year. We have a lot of good young players now, as opposed to last season, when we had the oldest players in the league, and we looked like it.
