I have, you are right but why were we expecting Eze to mark one of the strongest running wingers in the PL? We had an International LB playing, although you wouldn’t have thought it. I find the criticism of Eze staggering

I 100% agree about finding the criticism of Eze to be madness. PVA was standing in no mans land a good 10 metres back. Any decent full back would have anticipated Eze getting taken on and been there to mop up.

PVA doesn’t look like he cares anymore so it is for the best if he just runs down his contract and moves on. Which is what he has planned for a while anyway.

He may be a decent player playing in a back 5. (Which is why FDB signed him), but in my opinion he is completely out of his depth in midfield. Roy has to take slot of flack for preserving with trying to turn him into a centre mid player when it’s plain to see he is not capable.

Riedewald was purchased by FDB with a view to deploying him in a back three or in midfield.

Probably about 3 or 4 years ago it had been commented that he had moments when he 'Switches off' but the same could be said of every player!
My understanding is that around that time Messrs Hodgson and Lewington were of the opinion that the lad does not react and get back fast enough in the PL but these views might not hold at the present time.

What I would assert about Riedewald is that when he gets the ball to feet I have a degree of confidence that he will find one of our players with a pass in fact when he signed I had heard that one of his attributes was his long range passing.
The Ajax academy does produce players who are comfortable in possession.

Last nights team selection looked like the names had been drawn out of a hat.

With the predictable resulting lame performance and meek exit from the competition.

I'm not bothered about a cup run as such, but the approach to a competitive game is important and it was all wrong last night.

To not even draw a save from the opposition goalkeeper is a complete embarrassment

PVA being skipped past by Traore in the Second half for what should have been Wolves 2nd goal was embarrassing.

It was disgraceful, but PVA has been guilty of abject embarrassing defending in recent games.
His whole body language is shouting "I want out".

For RH to seemingly dismiss the defeat as being undone by a wonder goal is breathtaking in it's denial. Poor defending, and Guiata would have quite likely saved the shot (but Butland was coming back from a long lay-off and otherwise played rather well so no blame attached to him).

Yet Hodgson has been selecting him, despite the fact that there is more than adequate cover. Poor square peg round hole Roy!

It was a weird game. It was like we were watching an over-50s walking football team. There was so little movement that players ended up having to constantly pass sideways and backwards. Ayew was the only really dynamic player and he may be knocking on Roy's door ahead of the Arsenal game. Other than that...

PvA stood so far off Traore that I thought he must have some kind of restraining order. McCarthy looked like it was pub closing time and he was looking to start a fight with everyone, and our front two were just useless, summed up when a ball to Batshuayi hit him on the back!

Like most of our cup games under Roy it was a non event and felt more like a training exercise or preseason game. Nuno put out his first team because he said he wants the club to respect the cup. He is one of the few managers left that seems to have that opinion until you get to the quarter-finals.

How about that? A foreign manager having more respect for the Cup than 'Old School' English Roy Hodgson.

What darned "Wonder goal" ?

Overhead kick, beats 3 men, scored from one's own half, mazy dribble, multiple passes leading to goal ????
Traore cuts in, given acres of space, no challenge at all and scores from inside the area.

I'm glad people are starting to realise the amount of media friendly s*** he spouts after games.

If you don't watch our games, up until recently it is possible to realise how bad the problems are.

Looking at the Sheffield United game last week. Whilst there scorelines haven't been bad, once teams take a 1-0 lead against them they know there won't be any risk of losing. That's pretty much what it's like playing us. If we don't score in the first 14 minutes, we don't win. If we don't score first, we lose.
