Its a bit of a myth that we are tight at the back. No clean sheet since the first game and conceding 1.5 goals per game. For a team who cant score that is fatal.

Newcastle had an in-form striker on the pitch, our form player was off it. In the end that was the difference between two poorly performing teams. Too many players underperforming. Second half we seemed like the team most likely to win, but if we had I wouldn't have felt any different than I do now in terms of the performance. We can argue about squad selections and tactics but years of under investment is showing. WBA won't be easy.

Written perfectly.

I agree and that may be down to not playing 3 defensive midfielders and trying to fit Eze and Zaha in?

I'm not disagreeing, just saying that it will happen, for better or worse, as it is Roy's way. I totally agree with you that this team is old / unfit.

Correct but also uncreative in front of goal. The tone for the whole game was set in the first 20 minutes, 0 shots. Suddenly with 2 attackers on the pitch we start to go forward making chances. Unfortunately this was in the last 10 minutes of the game and we conceded twice. At least if we had started in this manner we could of had time to rectify the situation. We look/act so fearful in conceding early every game, that we can never be comfortable. The exception was Leeds game but unfortunately there was no replication last 2 games. The disconnect from this performance was amply shown when PVA took a free kick in a dangerous position with Eze on the pitch !?!

Some teams are hard to score against.
We are tedious to score against.
The goal will come eventually.

No it's down to the players we have not playing well enough, Mr Hodgson is no fool and if our players actually performed as he instructed them to we would be top of the table.
He can only work with what he can work with.

Mistakes are not made by any manager, least of all ours, players on the pitch make the mistakes and managers have to watch them do it just like us.
