The constant changes in defence caught up with us today, especially with PvA playing more on the front foot. The lack of continuity means the communication and understanding is not there. Dann was poor first half, unusually being poor in the air. Luka was not great and Batshuayi just can't seem to stay onside. VAR saw eveything except the foul on Zaha, but in honesty we didn't deserve anything from the game.

I like Wolves and I like their manager. We weren't great, we move on. Luka may have really shot himself in the foot as he probably would have started at Leeds despite a less than impressive showing. With 3 games out he may have to rely on injuries to get back in.

It's going to be a big test next weekend as right now our weaknesses could be spotted from space and Biesla seems to be all about fine tuning tactics. However, I will say this evening was not as depressing as some of our games this year and on another day we might have snatched a draw. We certainly attacked more than in many games even if it wasn't fruitful. Also, although not as good as the last two games, Jairo impressed again.

Can as all get a grip on the term ‘speech impediment’ which is being used far to frequently. Roy just struggles with his R’s ... hardly Stuttering Sid from Sydenham is he ... ffs!!!

Seconded. Roys only plan is to hold on to Wilf so he can pull a rabbit out of a hat to save this ole geezer's job. Leetds is next, and they are not short of ideas. Im done with the stale poop thats Roys trade mark. What say you now the Roy In brigade?

Bit over the top I think, we played some lovely stuff and should've scored before they did, yes our defending let us down but moving forward we created enough to get back into it with lots of good balls across their box ..shame no one was there to make use of them, I get the feeling you're enjoying this loss too much.
There were lots of positives for me in this match once you take away all the frustrations and our dreadful attempts of defending crosses, none of which can be blamed on our manager.

Apart from the dreadful errors he made. This was not a great all round performance by Palace by any means. Clyne was woefully exposed at right back today. Bring back Ward quick.

Crap defending and complete lack of effort for 20minutes, a penalty and a goal disallowed for marginal offside, a stone wall penalty not given and a pathetic red card, All with watching us unable to break down a side and score as we’ve seen so many times before.

Bad night

The only thing I want to point out here is that this is NOT a marginal offside. We are now living in the VAR world. We need to adapt to it and although we may consider some play one way it is VAR, and the referee's decision based on the fact VAR is there, that ultimately decides things. It's probably not going away so we, spectators, and players need to change our POV to accommodate it.

Jeagles, I couldn't disagree with you more. Mocking Roy for his poor tactics or other aspects of his coaching is clearly attacking Roy. But mocking his speech impediment is no different from "mocking" a short person for his height. Neither is something that can be controlled, and other short people could reasonably be humiliated by your choice of insult.

As a teacher, I would quickly respond to any student who chose to mock another's speech impediment, and I would frankly be appalled – and react even more strongly – to a colleague who did the same. If I were in charge of the site, I'd react immediately. The world needs a lot more kindness, especially in 2020.

Unfortunately another predictable result and game plan. We manage to stay in the league as luckily there are 3 worse teams each year, not because Roy is the messiah.

Our coaching just drills any chance of creativity or enjoyment of football out of our game. I feel sorry for Wilf, Eze and even Tekkers having to operate under this dystopian set up.

The best we can hope for is to get through this season, without losing the will to live then wave goodbye to Roy his team.

Doesn’t make any sense to me, don’t quite get your point?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

From Wikipedia.

Rhotacism
Speech impediment
In medical contexts, rhotacism is the inability to pronounce or difficulty in pronouncing r sounds. Speech pathologists call the condition de-rhotacism, or de-rhotacization, because the sounds lose their rhotic quality rather than becoming rhotic.

Disappointing result but hopefully Roy now knows a few obvious truths, such as...
Sakho needs to start.
Schlupp can only start if it is at LB.
Townsend, despite a couple of half decent games this season, should never start.
Eze needs to be in the 11.
Michy is not up to it.
The front four should be (l-r) Eze, Benteke, Ayew, Wilf.

But Wolves are decent and we showed a bit of quality on the ball so let’s not get too down.

There's a difference between a cheap joke and humiliation.

But as a teacher I'd hope you would stop someone from making fun of another kid in the classroom, but that would be direct bullying with a victim and a child not a 70 year old man whose paid handsomely to try and win football matches that Roy is never going to read this.

I make fun of some of my friends all the time for being short too. Makes them grumpy.
