I can only imagine how those on here that are adopting the '' it was only Fulham '' stance would have reacted had we not won.

Moaning about having less possession than them...really ? More possession doesn't necessarily translate into winning games - ask Brighton.

Getting the early goal clearly suited our style. They had to chase it after that which left us space to play in. We could have quite easily be talking about a 3-0 rather than 2-1 win.

Yes, the next two games provide sterner opposition, but we go into those games on the back of this win and more players returning from injuries...

I am pleased that we won but in reality we should have done anyway.
Fulham are rubbish and in the end they hit the woodwork twice and we conceded right at the death again.
They had more possession which against a team like that is not acceptable to me but at the same time I was pleased with how many shots we mustered.
However - one Swallow does not make a summer so let's see what happens over the next few weeks.
It has to be said that Wilf looked to be unplayable and we won.
We might not be a one man team but without him we might as well be.

Mr Hodgson has swallowed up three summers with us and he's enjoyed everyone of them, me included.

In their previous game they got a 1-1 draw at Sheff Utd and in the game before only lost 1-0 at Wolves. They had also added to their ranks by signing Kongolo,Andersen,Loftus-Cheek,Lookman etc etc and I actually thought they would win, albeit narrowly.

Once I heard that Zaha had made it 2-0 I was more than confident we would get all the points.

I predict they wont go down, they have plenty to worry lots of teams me thinks.

I predict they will go down, along with West Brom and Burnley.

There is a difference between having possession, being effective with it and being able to control a game. You can sometimes control a game without having the majority of possession but it doesn’t work on a regular basis against accomplished teams as is proved by the possession stats of the top 6 or 8 teams year in year out. But I guess that is not our target.

As you rightly say, the next couple of games will be a bigger test of our tactics and it will be interesting to see how we fare.

Thing with Burnley is, will they keep that spirit if they got 3 or 4 points from their next 8 games...

Chelsea, Brighton, us, Man City, Everton, Arsenal, Villa, Wolves...

(And tough games after)

So potentially 4 or 5 points after 14 games. Obviously they will be looking at us and Brighton but neither will be easy for them.

Huge pressure on them to make the running in games.

A total of 3 or 4 pts from the next 8 games will give them a points total of 4 or 5 pts.
Last season at the same juncture they had attained 18 pts.

I don't expect too much from our Team and as I said - to win is great.
I am still not comfortable with how we did it against such poor opposition and given that they hit the post twice then it could easily have been a 3-2 loss against a team that can't score goals.

Yes, '' the team that can't score goals '' hit the post, that's why they are...err.. the team that can't score goals.

There are no pushovers in this league. Every win has to be earned. We won and yet it's still not enough for you. Yes, there will be harder games against better opposition. But these are the games we need to win and win we did.
