Anyone who experienced the appalling atmosphere at the beginning of last season when the HF weren't around knows that this season the atmosphere has been leaps and bounds ahead of that, and the move has been good.

Your point about the rest of the ground not getting involved in chants would be all the more apparant if the HF weren't there! Deathly silence springs to mind.

Moaning about there being new songs that people dont know is laughable. Pride of south london, we love you and many others took their time to bed in. Cant you moan about the burgers or something else instead.

Oh, I am sure he will. But not instead.

Sorry but I just don't get the purpose of singing random songs for the whole game irregardless of what is happening on the pitch. They might as well sing Queen's greatest hits if it's just a question of making noise. Back in the day, the crowd would respond accordingly depending on whether we were winning or needed to get a goal. Now it's just an irritating background noise.

It goes wrong as soon as one song is sung for the first 20 minutes.

Someone who went to Selhurst Park recently for the first time said he expected much more of the 'Singing section' adding words to the effect that it was hardly the yellow wall of Dortmund. He was very disappointed and based on what he witnessed believes that they have been over-hyped.

No it’s certainly not Dortmund ! And probably over hyped,But certainly better than at least half the premiere league. Let’s wait and hear Arsenals wall of sound on Sunday ?

What a brilliant article!!

It seems incredulous that even a journalist can come down, see its worth and praise the section for what it is, while a minority of our own fans still seem opposed.

I'm in the main stand and it's louder than it's ever been and IMO there is real scope for this being allowed to grow even bigger. It's clear the creativity and commitment from this group is in place for us all to play a bigger role in taking it up yet a further notch.

Selhurst has been enjoyable this season - the section is consistent and a real spectacle. Let's keep pushing this forward and stop sniping at our own.

Excellent post . Some on here not happy if they’re not criticising.

And there I was expecting your usual high level of positivity.

I am positive about a great many things. Cannot, hand on heart think of anything positive to say about HF. Sure the pundits that never come to Selhurst, watch on tv or listen to other reporters ill informed opinions think they are great. Scratch the surface and for me they are starting to become divisive and toxic in the stands.
I am entitled to my opinion and I personally would prefer match days without them.
Didn't miss them before the were there, didn't miss them during their little hissy fit boycott, wouldn't miss them if they decided to stop going to the games from now onwards.

I think you need to be educated on what that phrase actually means. You make no sense.
Its all about opinions, you wont change mine. Yours? Maybe you'll always love them. Even if they try and bully your elderly Grandad or rough up your sister, or try and force two teenagers out of the food/drink que who were minding their own business waiting to be served but because there are only two of them and they may look a bit weedy I guess that's fine eh?
I've both heard of instances of this from HF as well as witnessed with my own eyes/ears. So I repeat, I don't like them. That's my choice. You want to love them because they bang a drum loudly and bounce up and down? knock yourself out.

Again, a lazy retort. I praise many things that are deserving of praise. You just don't like it because HF are far more deserving of criticism.

What a bitter, sad sack you are. Luckily, your opinion counts for very little when you see how they're valued by the club and most of us.

Just look at Joel Ward's facebook [Link]

He posts a pic of the display and says: "I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone involved, this was a special moment. I had no idea it was happening and am blown away by the continued support.. #oneclubtogetherinbattle @cpfc"

Clearly directed at all those who spent a whole week apparently in a basement working on this display.

It is crazy there is a minority of people bitter towards them when they provide such quality moments as this at the club that are clearly REALLY appreciated by players and fans alike.

But you carry on with your own weird agenda - which seems really out of touch when you see the likes of Ward's comments.

Surely you're on a wind up. They've just done a banner talking about unity and battling together, that 99% of supporters thought was excellent. Then Joel ward backed it on social media. They ended the game with we love you which was a great positive moment. They're the exact opposite of toxic and divisive, it's unfortunately the minority like yourself who are bringing the negativity!!
