I also think the perception of looming anarchy and social breakdown related to that is a bit strong. Out of interest have you arrived at that opinion though media coverage or through your own experience in your local area? Edited by SW19 CPFC (23 Nov 2018 3.05pm)
That last point is the key to long term survival i.e. the ability to adapt to the speed of change and I think we are on a losing trajectory at the moment.

Yep, agreed, advocating violence isn't good. 100% Feels like this is currently the realm of the ANTIFA mob though who fortunately can't fight their way out of a paper bag. I think generally the real far right I think are just so small in real numbers. We are just not a very racist country and haven't been for a long time.

I'd agree that pace of change is an issue, as per the automation point. As for how bad it actually is right now, if you only read the Mail, it's the worst it's ever been and we're all doomed, doomed I tells ya. But I don't agree. And I haven't run away to the shires, looking from the outside in and attempting to portray a qualified opinion based only on my subjective perception of how things were + the media. That's not to say we couldn't get there in the next 30 years, but not right now. Even then, it won't be anywhere near as bad as 536AD, apparently. Anyway, back to Stevey, bless him
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Anyway, back to Stevey, bless him I'm with you on the automation things by the the way (and AI). The other things is there are many existential threats we should be working on especially climate change and the proliferation of nuclear and biological weapons. All this is a distraction. 30 years is a huge underestimate by the way unless things significantly change for the better and people stop pointing fingers and start talking.

I think some of them actually believe it and the more smarter ones know that's it's a exaggerated weaponised tactic.....but it's political tribalism and all that matters is winning the culture war. In reality we just witness huge hypocrisies......there is what people say....and then there is what people do. In reality all groups separate themselves by majority behaviour into their own areas. This has been statistically looked into before....It's only a small percent who don't or those who can't afford otherwise. Any look at a demographic area reveals the difference between the truth and lies. Society in the UK will become increasingly balkanized along class lines which goes hand in hand with race.....It's already the case but it'll just increase. People will talk warm words but actions always speak far louder than words for those with more than two brain cells......and I have zero issues with that....only with the hypocrites. In the cities and in the poorer towns in the country social cohesion is going to get worse and violence will increase. It's not a happy message I know. Sorry and all that......on the upside I've just finished buying all my Xmas presents and I'm currently mulling over getting some spiced wine for after Christmas dinner.

As a bit of a UKIP fan boy I find the whole Robinson thing a bit of an unnecessary distraction, UKIP seem to be getting back to some decent numbers, it's just going to cause division within the party. I don't really care for half of Robinson's stunts in front of a camera however he does have a big following here & the US so it will be interesting to see if this strengthens or weakens UKIP, I honestly don't have a clue what way it will go. Farage left UKIP in a bit of a financial mess and Batten has done a great job turning that around. regardless of Theresa May's absolute botched abortion of leaving the EU, UKIP membership was steadily increasing under Batten. I suspect the Farage loyalist will leave & I'd imagine there will be a merger with the for Britain party at some point. I will still vote ukip at the next election. Also taking Robinson's anti islam stance out of it he is a proper lefty.
The mountains are calling & I must go. |
