How about discussing the subject? TR is being employed by UKIP, whether he joins the party officially is neither here nor there as people would view this as a further lurch to the right I wonder what moderate UKIP voters think of this?

Being a Ukip member I have an insight into this. Opinion on Robinson is divided with most of the older members being against while a lot of the new influx are for. Things being as they are, it's likely that someone like Robinson would stay as an adviser rather than join. However, as the situation with this particular religious community worsens as it grows in size and its political and cultural influence continues to increase along with its identity politics and the occasional terrorism from its fringe......I can see that over time Robinson will gain more traction within the party. Farage has said he will fight this and try to sack the leader. Last week the Wesh UKIP party voted against TR joining so its not fair to say that TR represents the average UKIP voter. The leader (can't be bothered to find out his name) appears to be trying to slip TR in through the back door. So UKIP is at a cross roads if Farage fails then I fear it will lurch further to the right. For all his faults Farage has always been against racism and UKIP actually has a good record of dealing quickly with its members unlike some of the mainstream parties. Its a shame because right now we need the old UKIP to remind the Maybot she is betraying the voters. Edited by Badger11 (23 Nov 2018 11.47am)

There is a lot of support for Robinson in Ukip and Farage left Ukip with its membership at tiny levels. Batten has built this party back up to near record membership.....and it continues to increase.

I am merely trying to point out that parties are elected by voters and not party members. UKIP has to have a broad appeal otherwise it will be un-electable. I believe that TR is toxic and whilst I don't disagree with his main points I think because of his toxicity he is giving the left a free pass. The left would rather abuse TR then actually look in the mirror. Most of the grooming gangs are based in Labour strongholds but instead of asking why has this happened on our watch the left prefer finger pointing at TR. It's you party but I suspect that the public will shun UKIP right at the time we need them to stand up and deliver Brexit.

You also don't help by spreading falsehoods like stating he's a racist without any evidence. Robinson is anti Islamic, and Islam isn't a race. Also, I'll state again.....Ukip's membership is near its record levels, that's with the new influx brought in recently.....not anything to do with Farage. Robinson has become more popular in Ukip circles due to his recent persecution by the government and because Ukip is the only party actually defending free speech in this country. Also, Ukip isn't delivering Brexit......that's the 2016 vote. Edited by Stirlingsays (23 Nov 2018 12.47pm)
