I've said all season Cahill is past it yet he seems to be one of Roy's faves. At least Cahill was honest to say he wasn't up to speed at the beginning of the season, but really, being not up to speed isn't good enough at this level is it? Kouyate is neither a decent CB or midfielder.
Two new Cb's should be made an absolute priority for next season.

If we cant afford two which is highly probable get one younger more mobile aerial dominating one to play alongside Kelly or Tomkins and get rid of the others who dont even get off the ground these days

I would hope that the new manager will know where to look.

I’ve read all the posts about the game yesterday and follow the threads on this forum with great interest as a fan.

My point is just that, I’m a fan. Always have been and always will be. Saw my first live game way back in 79.

I’ve seen the good the bad and the ugly. Right now for the first time in my life I am struggling to watch us. I can take losing. I know we are unlikely to be a top 4 team and more likely to be in or around a relegation battle. I understand all the flaws of being a Palace supporter, but the last couple of season are just so so boring.
It’s Iceland England again and again. I watched Roy’s interview on MOTD and he was so negative. If he is like this it will of course rub off on the players. They look as bored as we do. There is no freedom, no chance to express themselves. That might be ok if we were rock solid at the back and hard to breakdown, but we are not. The way we play is making us look so slow and cumbersome.
On the rare occasions when we have had spells of having a go at teams we have shown that the players do have the capacity to do it.

Yesterday we had 1 fast attack, ball played in quick and we scored a great goal. Why then do we continue to play players out of position. Ayew is not a winger, Zaha not a striker etc.

I would like to see just for my sanity...

Guaita

Ward Cahill kelly Mitchell

McArthur /Luka Kouyate

Zaha Eze schlupp

Tekkers

I can’t possibly be any worse.

Just my view. I’m not sure how much longer I can take this current set up, I certainly won’t be going back even if restrictions are lifted, it takes me hours to get to the home games and I just can’t be arsed and I never thought I’d say that.

Den- you see it almost exactly how I do. Why is 4-4-2 our default formation? The way we now play is how completely neutered our expensive striker. We have one of the league’s best wingers and he plays on the effing left or as an ineffective striker. We have a great looking young No. 10 who is shackled to the left of midfield. And good call on Kelly, what has he done wrong?

Well Steve Parish needn't waste time and money searching for a new manager. He needs to look no further than this forum to find a Manager as so many think they could do a better job.

Get a grip! Do you think 1 shot on target is purely down to the quality of Chelsea? They got beat 5 2 by West brom last week, the fact fans are happy to accept performances like this sums it all up!!!!

They won 0-2 away against Porto in the Champs League on Weds. Completely blew us away in the 1st half with their quality, particularly their high speed passing. We would of had to go more defensive if that was possible if we wished to contain them at best 0-0 at half time.

"Lol benteke is better than both of them. He scored with one chance today. Can’t ask much more of him.

Of all the problems right now, CB isn’t one of the bigger ones."

Yes a really productive player over the years and a right bargain too at only £5.5 million pa.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

By all means give him some game time but perhaps the forthcoming match against Sheffield United might be more appropriate

Good point but I don't really see this happening under Roy. Two seasons ago at this time of the season Roy was commenting on the need to secure table places for financial gain. Last season we were tumbling badly. Neither seasons did we see new players given a go.

We know only too well that they have quality in their ranks and are a far better team.

What does not help is to have THREE players ball-watching as Havertz drifts in behind them then gets off a shot for the opening goal under NO challenge at all with 3 players in his vicinity not one of which got in a block or a tackle.

In a game between the ' haves ' and the ' have nots ', the outcome wasn't a surprise.

The last time we beat Chelsea at home was 4.5 years ago. From the starting line ups that day, we had 6 playing for us yesterday, they had 1, Azpilicueta.

Whatever the debate about formation selected, the team contributed to their own downfall. The first goal, Eze stupidly giving the ball away around his own penalty area, compounded by Cahill standing off Havertz for which we were duly punished.

After that Chelsea's quality and high energy were just too much. All of our well known deficiencies were exposed. I actually thought they looked better than Liverpool did when we lost 0-7 to them in December.

Anyway, a good day for the Roy Haters.

We were simply outclassed by a better side on the day. Not many teams would have lived with Chelsea in the first half, they were brilliant.

I personally think Roy has done great job during his tenure. Not had much to spend and yet has kept us in the league the longest of any manager, including hero's such as Coppell.

I do find the games a tough watch sometimes, but also accept that we need to play to the strength of the team as a whole. We tried to change previously bringing in RDB and that showed the risks of trying to change the team ethos.

I do think this will be Roy's last season and feel now will be the right time to bow out.

For all the Roy haters on here they will be happy, but it will come as no surprise that we go for a similar approach with the next manager, and would expect the club to go for Dysche, a ready made replacement.I just can't see the club trying to change the set up too drastically and he is bound to be their first logical choice.

If he wants to progress with a career at Palace, having nightmares is something he will have to get used to
We should have tried keeping the ball on the ground as CB was getting very little from Zouma, ie bring on Mateta
