What could anyone say about the game that hasn't already been said so many times before?

Yet another dreadfully disappointing outcome. We really couldn’t hit a barn door!

I agree it doesn’t make sense to put Benteke on and take Townsend off even though it has to be said Townsend is awful currently. Last decent corner we had was taken by Eze against Leeds and scored by Dann yet Townsend gets to take the corners on both wings. Benteke did ok for the 30 minutes he played but isn’t the answer to our goal drought. If we do anything in January it has to be buying a decent striker.

Only plus for me was that Clyne did pretty well at right back and looks a smart signing until Ferguson gets over his injury.... if he ever does!

Oh and if Ajax come offering decent cash for PVA we should probably grab it. He silent look like the player of the last 2 seasons.

When Ian Dowie took over as Manager all those years ago we were beaten 1-0 at home by Millwall but it was the best defeat I can remember seeing and I left the ground that day full of hope for the future and and what followed proved that.
Right now these stupid defeats and the blind assertions that this is our "best start ever" completely obscure the facts.
If you are going to succeed and not tread water you need to improve and regardless of statistics we are not doing that really.
I don't expect us to win the League but I do expect the team that I have supported for near 60 years to play with a plan and when players are earning tens of thousands of pounds every week that they are able to do the basics.
Last night we could have won - their keeper made some good saves - yes.
That is what keeps do though isn't it and Newcastle could have scored well before they did as well.
Look at the stats on attempts and on target - we were second best again!
Are we better than the likes of Newcastle and Burnley - just, yes, but we lose to them without scoring and with tactics that would shame a game played on the local park.
Losing is fine but at least do it in style with the semblance of a plan!
Our Manager's tactics are dull and negative and worse than that, they waste the talent that we do have available.
Our players know how to play football but they are simply not allowed to because they are not given the framework to do so.
Add to that, utilising players out of position and playing players who shouldn't even start!
Schlupp played well last night but he is a left back/midfielder - he played up front whilst a £30m center forward who we are thinking of offering a new contract to sat in the stand and his sidekick on loan worth over £20m who we might buy sat beside him - who does that - the same Manager who had Harry Kane taking corners for England - that's who!
Scott Dann started his second game in 5 days - he isn't fit enough to do that and it showed.
He also started on the centre right whereas last week he was centre left - why?
He is a great guy and a wonderful player but he has had his day as a starter!
McArthur - industrious and hardworking but now past his sell by date whilst Reidewald sits in the stands and where Schlupp could fit in if we played a centre forward in his place.
Ayew - I just don't get it - top scorer last season - not saying much though is it - he is either not used properly or he is just plain not good enough - I don't know which.
The list goes on but the bottom line is that Roy Hodgson no longer has what it takes.
We start games like strangers, we are unable to string passes together, we are unable to hold the ball, there is no Plan A even.
I totally understand the Curbishley theory and like I say I am not expecting Palace to be world beaters but at least hold our own against the likes of Burnley and Newcastle but above all give me hope that despite theses losses that there is more on the way - trouble is there is no hope - just the knowledge of more drudgery to come.
I will not set foot inside Selhurst Park again until the Manager is changed (yes - pandemic - I know!) - this negative risk averse football has to stop.
I didn't agree with Pardew's ideas and the way he treated some of his players but there is a happy medium.
Something has got to give - we are a joke!

Our two Belgium strikers on the bench (FIFA world ranking no1 team btw) and played three wingers instead, Eze played out of position, Townsend not dropped after Monday, in pre match interview Roy was a bumbling mess...turned it off at half time as it was making my teeth itch. There's only one answer and Parish needs to end this agony for us and for the Roy's...thanks Roy but TTFN.

Early on my Amazon Prime picture froze unfortunately they got it going again.

I think others have probably covered what I was going to say.

For those who may still be interested ... I see the 20/21 team shirts are 35% off this week. A few more games like last night and I suspect they'll drop to 75% off.

Agree mostly if not all with that, but if I’m lucky enough to get a ticket I will be attending Selhurst whatever manager is in charge :-)

Spot on Willo, I thought the same about Dann and it’s a real shame but he’s had his day now I think, and totally agree Newcastle were lucky to come away with win, only 3 mins before their second goal we had 2 chances to win the game!

Dann did look dreadful and clearly was exhausted. But our squad has been dreadfully depleted by injuries and Covid. Sakho and Tomkins are not quite matchfit and I am sure Dann will be rested when these key defenders are ready to go. McCarthy is greatly underrated even by Palace fans. Luka is a solid DM even if not the player he once was. And our talisman Zaha has been out for 2 games so far. I think results will improve. I am doing my best to stay positive!

Prime Amazon are shocking. We are shocking. Empty stadiums are shocking. Newcastle are crap. I’m worried. Lock down matches of last season we went on a massive losing run with no goals. Are we there again? Big games ahead. Very worrying
