Been a long long time since a club has been unbeaten for such a short amount of time Everton lost at Southampton as you know after just six games! ..past results etc can mean nothing and Fulham only need to organise their defending, they looked very threatening against us especially first half and could've easily scored ..their ability to pass is not in question.

A lot of over reaction here. After totalling one effort on target in over 180 minutes of football (and that from a dive) we secure victory by a one goal margin against the bottom team who many have as favourites to be relegated. Yes we played well enough to win, yes we had 10 attempts on goal, yes Jairo and Eze look like starters and add that bit of extra quality that has been sorely lacking, yes Wilf was up for it - but let's not get too carried away as there will be some tough games coming up soon, after which we should be able to make an assessment of where this Palace side is headed. A welcome 3 points and a more progressive attitude which I would like to see RH take into the next game.

There could be a lively debate as to whether he was their "Best player" ! Mr Bilic openly said that he cannot build a premier league team if the likes of Ferguson are allowed to leave, so he clearly would love to start the debate.

I haven't seen a lot of over reaction here, I feel we are all very much with our feet on the ground. Optimism is excellent that is all.

Roy is generally good at getting us to win against the Fulham and the Norwich type of teams, but Wolves and Leeds next up will really show where we are headed (or not). Those two teams will be 6-11th sort of position come the end of the season.

We lost 2-0 last time but we were awful for some reason at the death last season apart from the home games, we beat them 2-0 the time before ..remember Ayew scoring his first goal for us and we should've scored more in that game as I remember, that's it in recent times, if you want to go further fill your boots.............. Leeds are an unknown quantity against us, they may for all we know be dreadful or bloody brilliant against our play we will have to find out. Edited by Tickled pink (26 Oct 2020 12.17pm)

I am pleased that we won but in reality we should have done anyway.

Any win in this division is 3 points well deserved. There probably won’t be a single game all year where we have the most possession because that’s not how we play and it is a stat that means nothing if you don’t score.

[quote=The We’re definitely not a 1 man team but we do rely too much on Wilf. When he is off his game as he was against Brighton he should be subbed. Yet he plays the full 90 minutes either because he keeps a couple of markers busy thereby freeing space for others or because he might just produce a moment of genius. Occasionally that pays off but against Brighton it didn’t. It’s even worse because our out ball was “give it to Wilf” ( when we managed to pass). Roy now has other attacking options in Eze and Bats so I’d like to see him be prepared to take Wilf off if he’s having a poor game rather than comment afterwards about his lack of contribution.
