Thanks, I'm glad people are now checking the rules on the FA's website. Although for handball, I couldn't find the list of interpretations that the TV kept showing at the weekend. I have a feeling that they might be examples of what is a handball, but the rule says making the body unnaturally big. It doesn't say in an unnatural position.

The offside play is only penalised when they come involved in active play. So it's still a handball first. Although, I thought the old offside rule was better when you either were, or weren't offside.

This is an example of how they've tried to rewrite the law to cover different scenario's and screwed it all up.

Taking out interpretation and making hard and fast rules is harsh, but it's the only way to apply them. Refereeing decisions should be almost robotic.
