2 very inactive transfer windows suggest there is some restriction in our spending ability presently. Roy may not be happy but hasn't run off like some other managers. If this is going to be a similar situation next season then Roy's quotes about talks concerning contract extension are credible. I'm not sure any new manager will come in under those circumstances but Roy might well stay, suiting the owners.

Then Parish’s amazing stewardship of all Palace football matters has truly come home to roost. I know it’s for the other thread but Parish was found out years ago on this website. Has dug himself out of sh1t with money from the future several times and after managerial errors from having very little clue, and a lot of that stems from not having or not listening to non yes-men. Someone who knows feck all about the game ignores those who do. All is okay now because we have Freedman who stitched him and us over who also had and has zero experience of the role he was employed for.

For the purposes of clarification 151 think Hodgson should go in the summer with 59 thinking he should go now.

That’s what I expected. Only bad or owners unwilling to spend again and really risk ourselves would keep him next season.

Same again then, until we’re fecked earlier on and worse, with the wrong players and player mix after another window flushed down the toilet.

Shambolic owners we have now. Truly w@nk.

I don't post much these days, but I have to say I'm a little bemused / ashamed of this thread.

I think it's possible we'll get relegated, & our football "style" is attritional to put it mildly. but 2 points people:-

1. (minor) - I don't think l anyone else (given our squad) would be able to garner any more points from our remaining fixtures than Roy could.

2. (F-Major) - I think we owe a debt of loyalty to Roy (& Ray) for punching above our weight for 2.5 seasons now - given the shocking squad management - bad transfer window following bad transfer window ad infinitum.

This thread (unfortunately) shows me that we're just the same as every other of the "91" - we should aim higher morally in. my opinion.

& yes, he should go in the summer

No doubt Parish will f-up (again) but offering out of date goods a further shelf extension (Pards, Benteke).

These are good points, but this thread only reflects what has , and does happen at most clubs that have probably reached their realistic potential. In most cases the clubs involved have spent big trying to go forward . That hasn’t happened here.
Calling for Hodgsons, head might hold water if he had any real backing in the transfer market. He hasn’t , And because of that we are where we are. People think Palace could, should, play differently when needed . That could only happen if he had real game changers in the squad. He hasn’t ,because apparently the club can’t afford more than space fillers and potential.
There aren’t many that would want his job.And none to do a better job under the same conditions.
The board are trying to get success on a shoe string, the result is we in effect stand still, in football that usually means it will end in tears.
Getting rid of a manager that handles the situation as well as Hodgson has is invariably part of the last act before relegation.

I think a snake oil charlatan can spot Parish a mile away - a fool and his money...

Eight years ago Parish was revered like a god on this forum. Three of us had reservations about him and were roundly derided at every given opportunity with one particular R Sole being banned several times for his tirade of personal insults.

I read many of the comments about our chairman nowadays with a wry smile

I’ve replied in the ‘moaning’ thread.

My Fulham mate would argue Roy was the best thing that's ever happened to them as he took them to their only European final. And Liverpool were to blame for their failings, Roy was made a scapegoat - even Liverpool fans will tell you that.

First off, even Pardew got us to the FA Cup Final and he was gloriously Sh1t. As for the Dippers one of their defenders a certain international Glen Johnson who knows more than any liverpool " fan " has been on interview and slated Hodgson for being way to negative. So sorry mate that means nothing.

Roy's a busted flush and teams beat us with relative ease.

As a minimum , if the club is thinking of offering Hodgson a contract, it should certainly hold off until the club are safe.
For him to sign a new contract and end up taking the club down would seem very strange !
