MOTD, expected goals for us 1.5, for Norwich 1.3 but all they showed was the misses by Norwich and how unlucky they were not to win the game, Kelly should have dealt better playing offside for their goal and they basically had three other opportunities including hitting the bar, I remember four good opportunities for us with three mad scrambles in their box to clear the ball away not including our goal, they showed just one of our chances and of course Wickham's goal ..but they made the game appear as if we were totally outplayed

Typical MOTD. The pundits rarely even mention that we have played, let alone how we have played. Shearer would rather tactically analyse how f***ing awful his beloved Newcastle have played, before bringing himself to utter the words “Crystal Palace”.

Mattteo commented earlier about whether there was space in the squad to keep Riedewald, Schlupp and PVA. It's worth remembering that we have five goalkeepers named in the 25 man squad. We clearly only need three so there are two spare places that can be filled with outfield players.

Well, that would do it if 2 attacking players were brought in this winter. But what if there are 3? A striker is a must. A winger is a must. Maybe 2 wingers. Maybe a right back.

Riedewald is worth keeping in the squad as a utility option. I wouldn't play him ahead of PVA necessarily, but PVA has had long periods in the past two seasons where his form has dipped. PVA's passing has been particularly sloppy too.

I would have expected PVA to convert the chance Riedewald had though.

It would be good to see him have a go in Midfield. Perhaps against Derby instead of Luca.

Having Pierreck, Kerby and Kayoute on the bench shows just how many midfielders we currently have, but it's an area we still struggle in. Not sure what the solution would be though.

I sit and watch motd and then realise fully why the comments on their BBC match reports always have people writing 'what is the point of Palace' and 'they should be relegated' etc etc because all they've seen is us being outplayed, they did the same at Newcastle when we actually played very well ..we appeared total crap lol

Any idea what the points per game ratio of those managers is? I'm rubbish at stats, but it might be interesting.

Pulis 1.46
Hodgson 1.3
Allardyce 1.24
Pardew 1.21

Still amazes me what Pulis got out of that squad especially as Murray was only fit for the equivalent of 4.5 games

He also did a great job shielding the ball before laying it off to Zaha, something Meyer would never do. In addition, he played a lovely pass to Ayew with virtually his first touch.
I imagine he will start against Derby and looks very promising for someone who has just turned 18. Ndah is the team's youngest ever premier league at just a couple of months younger

Didn't see motd. But I saw the match on a decent stream. I thought we far outplayed them up until the final quarter of the pitch. Then we couldn't produce a goal (not unusual). They were on the back foot most of the game. Their goal was against the run of play, even as early as it was.

Reading these posts on here during the game I thought I must be watching a different match.

Maybe the panel of motd were posting on here???

We had more than 60% of possession but it was pretty slow paced as they shut Zaha down - apart from the goal. There was very little threat from the right as Meyer hasn't got the trickery or pace to be a winger and just moves infield. Kelly had one good cross but really doesn't offer much

The balance looked better when Wickham came on and Ayew switched to the wing. But Norwich basically gave up as an attacking force and had taken both Cantwell and Pukki off by the time we scored.

A lot of you need to get a f***ing grip. We are absolute riddled with injuries and have to play the same team every game over the xmas while every other team rotates full sqauads. Those players and Roy are working miracles. So to all you negative pricks I say. Go support a new team and learn something aout football.

Spot on, and also add that half the team are carrying injuries and shouldn't even be plating.

Maybe that's what's they're doing to their WAGS whilst they're recovering.
