Do vegans realise that they are putting farmers of cows pigs and sheep out of business and on the dole which in turn costs the government loads more dosh in benefits and hand-outs ????
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Even though it has been scientifically proven that a vegan diet (Properly researched) are a safe, healthy and viable option for all age groups as all nutrients can be found in alternative options to meat. People are capable of living without sex or love or books or TV but that is not necessarily desirable. You position is born from an agenda and one which demonises eating meat. Whilst I sympathise with the broader concerns about environment and animal welfare, it is not unnatural or immoral to eat meat in itself.

I personally have no problem with people eating meat. I've merely been fighting my corner with people throwing there facts at me. as I said to begin with, I don't care whether people eat meat or not. I do not try and force my opinion down peoples throats like apparently all vegans do however all I have seen in this post is people trying and do the same to me despite the fact I said originally I'm happy for any one to eat whatever they want

As an Ashford dweller perhaps you should switch your attention to a campaign to remove the awful traffic light system some twit decided was a good idea in Ashford town centre. It used to take about 2 minutes to get through the town even during busy times, now it takes 20 if your lucky. I digress.

Our incisors aren't for meat but evolved in order for us to enjoy a root vegetable. They were much easier to catch, when we were still mono-browed, scratching our balls and perusing that circular poo some clever b'stard had dropped, than some four-legged sprightly young antelope. You can keep all the cr@p you eat. My niece was a vegan for three years and suddenly saw the light and now eats normal food like the rest of sane people. Sanity can broadly be defined as doing no harm to ourself and no harm to others. Veganism is perfectly sane in that regard

By all accounts vegetarianism and veganism is better for most people, but the taste of meat just is too good. That's said, I've eaten a lot of vegetarian meals, and they're pretty good too. But like you say, the Bacon Sandwich, the Steak, a proper burger (not that McD s**t) is just something far superior in taste. Of course, that's what'll probably kill me, but f**k it, I smoke, eating meat is the least of my health risks. The choosing something just cos it tastes good over what is ethically what you feel like doing is all about the ego.

There's an island in Greece or near, south Med anyway, where heart disease is non-existent amongst the locals. Fish, nuts, olive oil, veg and fruit and a wee tot of the good stuff and lots of walking is their diet. The sadists.

Here's the thing. We all know the food industry can be misleading (horsemeat in foods being one example) so when you are buying something packaged as vegan how do you know it actually is. We try our best and we trust that if we have integrity others will too, personally I eat a lot of home cooked stuff, a dietitian once told me that this is the one most useful choice in eating, when we cook for ourself from scratch we naturally make more healthy decisions.
