Maybe im mistaken, but i got the impression it was going to be Basil Fawlty running establishment elsewhere. According to the bbc, they will NOT be showing it & it is based 'abroad'. Badger . . . 'Still Open All Hours'?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I have been trying to think of successful comedy re-boot which was at least as good as the original. The only one that comes to mind is Whatever happened to the likely Lads which I think was better than The likely Lads. Any others? Yes. Mind you I think all but one of the originals was wiped so hard to judge, but the re-boot was excellent.

it's a vehicle for his daughter. No-ones even heard of her until she's lined-up to co-star in this.

You would think that someone with the work history, talents & lifetime in the film industry connections of someone like John Cleese there would be a better way to go, Fawlty Towers was a classic in its time but a lot of the endearing comedy revolved around a cross between a kind of slapstick & stereotypical characters which JC carried with a wonderful energy which befitted the time, I feel that trying to reboot it now would be a mistake. Can you imagine trying to reboot only fools & horses ?
