But it is something new for us as we are normally moaning about all the players that we have missed out on but the good news is that we still have that pleasure to come

Roy did a fantastic job in terms of doing what it said on the tin; keeping us in the PL. However, his brand of football bored me s***less and by the end of last season, watching one turgid performance after another, I was seriously wondering how much more I could take. Some of my happiest days watching Palace were in the old Third Division. I want to see entertaining football at Selhurst; I don't much care who we play. Yeah, of course, I'd rather we were in the PL but not if the grim performances of recent seasons are the price we have to pay to be there. So the present situation, hopeless as it is (no manager, stripped-down squad) fills me with optimism. I have no idea what we're going to get come August, but it'll be a hell of a lot more interesting of a ride than the drek we've endured in recent seasons. We're exciting again because who knows what's coming next. That's enough for me to be going on with. I'm really not sure I could have tolerated another season of Royball, with all due respect to the man. Edited by sydtheeagle (01 Jul 2021 1.28pm)

Edited by sydtheeagle (01 Jul 2021 1.28pm) Amen to that, Syd. My thoughts exactly. Edited by Elwissthebest (01 Jul 2021 9.02pm)
