How about Lampard coming in as Manager with Hodgson 'working upstairs'? No Manager for a middling Premiership team is going to hang around forever therefore why not reap the opportunity to bring in Frank whose reading of the game and expertise should fervently move the squad from battling for survival - top 10 finish ? Dyche is also hardly going to leave Burnley for a sideways move either.

Got to be honest - really don’t understand why so many are so dismissive on the prospect of Vieria..!!

Let’s get one thing straight he is a winner and would command immediate respect from the squad and would be able to relate on their level.

If ex players of this stature are not going to be given the opportunity - where on earth are the Pep Guardiolas of the future going to come from?

I’m not suggesting he is the answer - but what I am saying he is very worth consideration and not to be dismissed so totally out of hand.

The game is littered with winners who couldn't make it as managers starting perhaps with Bobby Charlton

Perhaps managers are a bit like players where the perception of their abilities improves after a period of absence

In my opinion it’s a lot to do with the fit of manager and club and how they gel with the players. There are numerous examples of successful managers who have tanked at a new club and unknown managers who have been an outstanding success. Reputation and past success sometimes counts for very little.

Dyche isn’t exactly pulling up trees at Burnley is he?

I don’t fancy Lampard or Viera to be honest. It’s Howe for me and if not then Dyche but only because I think he would have enough experience to keep us up. Ismael would be an interesting appointment though, I have to admit.

You mean the manager who has by far the lowest budget in the league and took Burnley to a 7th place finish and a European spot?

I hope it's Howe, kept Bournemouth up for four seasons.

Play's attractive football and is out of work.

Please not Dyche.

I am wrong often but parish strikes me as seriously cautious - justifiable given our relative small size- and I can't see him choosing someone unproven at this level.

No recent prem experience no job.
