I like him and admire his work at Brentford. I also like his interviews and his refreshing candour. After one game where they had won comfortably in the post match interview he said ‘We battered them.’ This is unusual in today’s media controlled world . According to Roy every game is ‘very difficult’ even a home cup tie to a Division One team! Having said that I feel it would be a gamble to appoint him, particularly as we have a different working model to Brentford.

Frankly (sorry), I've long thought this bloke is a great manager and would love to see him at Palace. Apart from his undoubted managerial qualities he has a certain style and 'je ne sais quoi', whatever that is in Danish, about him which I reckon our supporters would relish. Bit like a foreign Malcolm Allison, only with more ability. Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
