Not a chance he is ready for the PL. Maybe if he shows consistent results in the Championship but at the moment, no way.

Reading Swansea forums it seems they see him as someone who wants a project and perhaps is not a man for immediate results. Some of them seemed to suggest he was happier to work within a budget than Potter, which might also appeal to the board, plus he's used to having American owners. His experience at youth levels would tie in with our aims of bringing more youth players through and it seems he does have a lot of contacts in the game. If he had an experienced coach alongside him I guess maybe it could work? It would be very much a risk though. Lampard has no experience of what it's like to manage a PL club at our level and if he hadn't been such a good footballer at England and at Chelsea I doubt anyone would be seriously considering him.

The bookies still had Howe as the favourite this morning and given Parish tried to get him before he went to Burnley all those years ago it does seem like the most obvious choice. The big question there is whether he is a genuine contender for the Celtic job, which may not pay as well but would certainly be more glamorous than us. Dyche probably guarantees you PL football, but would he really improve the performances? I couldn't see Eze and Zaha working well under him either.

I am wondering if Howe has been already sounded out to take over at end of season ,and Roy aware of this plan so hence not bothered about Contract negotiations ?

Don't think so. Swansea's fans seem to regard his as tactically naive and slow to react.

I'd like to think Eddie Howe was higher on Parish's 'want' list. Thomas Frank looks a good bet too, not to mention that long haired guy Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe. Not that I know anything about his credentials, but he has style.

Thomas Frank is a good young manager but you also have to take into account the very good scouting/analytical team Brentford have. Same can be said of Barnsley, previous unknown manager recruited from Austria was headhunted and now Valerian Ismael, also recruited from Austria doing a very good job

I don't think he would get on with Parish/Freedman but I keep thinking we should have a bit of ambition & be aiming for someone like Villas Boas.
If not AVB surely someone of his ilk?

Genuinely have no clue about Cooper although I fear with our hyper privileged bunch of bellends that occasionally make an effort he would struggle to command the respect he would need.

The mountains are calling & I must go.

Dwight McNeil hasn’t done to badly playing for Dyche

Well, given our Chairman's liking for having ex-Palace players around, Valerian Ishmael would fit the bill. Played around a dozen games for us in the late nineties and was, if memory serves, a complete flop.

I would prefer Tommy Cooper,he was welsh, but you cannot get a manager "just like that!"

I cleared the loft out with the wife the other day, horrible, dirty and smelly.......but she’s good with the kids

Give a fedora and we’re good to go!

I don’t think we going to take too much of a chance - so I’d be happy with Howe and Dyche (who I think is exactly what we need at this point in time) .
The sooner the better!

His name is not too dissimilar to an ex manager of ours, so I'm game.
