Yes, Boxing Day 1986.
However, some of us remember the worst ever Boxing Day when we went down to Brighton in 1979 to see Palace lost 3-0. We were penned in with barbed wire on top of the fences, were kept in for what seemed like hours after the match, and were hassled by the police as we walked away afterwards. Yes, the very worst.

The right place at the right time

Got to be winning 3-0 at home to Millwall in 1962.
Which reminds me that as late as the 1957-8 season, a year after I started watching Palace, we still had successive matches on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. In 1957 we did the double over Brentford, winning 3-0 at home followed by 2-1 away. However in 1951 we had a terrible twin defeat to Brighton, 1-2 at home and 3-4 away. And in 1946 we were paired with Torquay! We won 6-1 at home on Christmas Day then travelled 200 miles to lose 1-2 away n Boxing Day. Madness!
All stats taken from Ian King's wonderful Complete Record, of course.

Lovely stuff! Thanks and merry Christmas.

I hope this isn't nostalgia clouding my mind, or perhaps the aftermath from yesterday's drinkfest:

I do remember a boxing day game after lots of snow, against Nottingham forest in the late 80's. Nigel Clough played up front for them and an orange ball was used as there was so much snow piled up around the pitch. I cried all the way home, possibly due to the result, but definitely because it felt like I had got frostbite of the toes.

Remember this game at Town, where he missed a penalty in last minute. Proved fatal at end of season as this was the dreaded Oldham season :
