Joe Hart I think. I'm sure he came over to congratulate Guaita on his performance.

Indeed were in deep conversation for some time

He was wrong-footed - any goalie could have been tricked by that shot. Guaita was just amazing and surely MOTM any team.
Great to see how he recovered after 0-1 - and the pundits on Thai Channel (Tim Sher"spurs"wood and that knob McManaman incl. one of the many women they fill up studio with) was, of course, clear in their common view: "should have saved!"

you all seem tobe in the goalkeepers union, he F*cked up if he didnt have a clear view i would say yes saw it late, but he had time to make a cup of tea it was that far out, Rule one of any sport thats played with a round thing is you watch the ball nothing else other wise you miss it, BUT he did repay for the error with some class saves, the save from kane near the end reminded me of the save our Nigel made against Huddersfield all thought it was in but somehow saved it

Talking to people in Spain - My daughter lived there until recently - they are not obsessed with the Premier League but his performance has been noted such as they want him home!

because we can't make it about Murray in this case

The error was Guaita going to his right or so far to his right to begin with. He didn’t need to. If he didn’t he might’ve made it to the ball to his left. I didn’t berate him then anyway as he’s good for quite a lot of points in a season and glad he made amends with 2 great saves and a few that might look great but really should be saved at that level. My main concern when he joined was he looked a bit weak in the air but he’s been okay there.

He should absolutely have saved Kane's shot. Even though it did swerve slightly to the right late on, VG was already diving off to the left by then, and the ball wasn't heading that way with or without swerve.

The impressive thing was that he didn't let the error get him down. He was superb before their goal but even more so afterwards. The saves late on against Kane and Dier had me on my feet punching the air as much as the goal did.

Yesterday had all the hallmarks of a classic Palace plucky defeat. A bigger, richer opponent demonstrated superior quality, we fought back into the game and gave all we had, got the goal, only for them to reassert themselves. Under normal circumstances either Kanes header or Diers free kick goes in, and we get that familiar sinking feeling.

Guaita not only denied Spurs and got us a point, he defied what so often seems the inevitable moment we get put in our place.

Nice one VG!

I agree. Also whilst I would still vote him MOTM for the rest of his performance I was disappointed with the way he tried, in the post-match interview, to say the shot was more difficult than it looked.

I agree with the general thrust of these sentiments.

I love Guaita and the consistency and stability he has bought to our goalmouth since that welsh bloke. But lets face it if he didnt have the odd howler in his game he wouldnt be playing for cpfc.
