The last two results were so thoroughly predictable.
No Zaha,no points.
Very depressing,but accurate.

I've defended Roy against some of the more ridiculous critisism on here, but football's ultimately a results business. And if you go back to when play resumed last season, our points tally would have us relegation certainties.

A win at West Brom would see a step back from the brink, a defeat though would put him under pressure.

In terms of the last 2 games, I've seen us play worse and win. Both defeats hard to take. But last night's team selection was baffling and I'm sure like many others, when I saw it I feared the worst.

Since the restart last season we have played 19 league games, half a season, and attained 17 pts.

That is relegation form plain and simple although, having said that 34 points might be enough to stay up this season.

Thankfully the crap teams only play us twice so they can’t pick up enough points off us to stay up.

I presume you count WBA in this category given their league results.
If we lose to them, which of course is a possibility, HOL will be in meltdown with the smorgasboard of sentiments awash with hyperventilation and self-combustion.

Sincerely hope after a bright start to the season, that after the International break that our results do not mirror the calamitous run following project restart.
We need Zaha back plain and simple,as without him,we may remain pointless to equal our abysmal form towards the end of last season and slide towards the relegation cluster.

It is a results business, and this slow death has been coming for a while.

There's currently 4 teams in the premiership with a worse points per game ratio than us over the last 11 months but without a change of leadership I cant see us turning it around. I can see potential for at least two of Brighton, Sheffield United, Fulham, West Brom, or Leeds improving. Which leaves us in a lot of trouble.

We don't have a few end of season dead rubbers or a summer for a new manager to come in and sort the team out now either.

I am reading through everything, we have threads, Roy out, benteke, parish , ffs even throw ons ? Blaming roy for everything , “ruined benteke”
“Can’t utilise throw ins”

I mean , this is our second best start to a premier league season
Ok, so we have had 2 bad results in a row, however , tonight’s result you lot surely arnt going to ping on Roy are you? He did what everyone wants? Make subs early etc ! 3 mins before their first goal we had 2 massive opportunities to score

My earliest palace memory was when my dad took me to a game when I was 5 in 1993 against Oxford ! We won 2-1 Chris Armstrong scored twice .
That season we were promoted and and 6 years old I couldn’t contain my excitement to play Liverpool first game of season! My optimism was very quickly destroyed as I saw us get heavily beat 6-1 at home first game of season. From then on I learnt never to expect too much. We are the underdog, always will be , don’t forget our team that was promoted in 2013 was favourite to be relegated to league 1 and first season in Orem after 4 games we were 1-16 to be relegated !
Have a little faith people

Up the palace

Yep, A young Robbie Fowler versus an ageing Butch Wilkins was never going to be a fair battle. Yes there does need to be some perspective but in relation to subs,an early one would of been after 20 mins with us having 0 shots.

It is well documented now that the England players on the day fucked it up, they should've been good enough to organise themselves into a position of not losing that game, English players in all honesty are not actually all that useful against other well oiled and organised squads from other parts of the world, show me Mr Smarty Pants proof of any tournament where we have lit the event up? You can't because no matter who the manager is when we come up against a decent country we run into a brick wall.

Willo has his feet well and truly on the ground, it's all the fans who want us to win every time we play anyone in or around us in the table who are deluded, they are like the tide in out in out regardless of our performances, all they see is the results and act as so. We played some lovely football last night.

Come the end of the season I'll be smiling but you'll be a bit embarrassed by your endless blaming of our very decent manager.

I enjoyed Euro 96 and some of our play.
