According to the official CPFC, yes.

It does go on to say, he is back training & wont be fit for fri night(phew), he will also undergo another covid test on sat.

Not sure I understand that. He got a straight red against Wolves which is only two matches ago and it’s normally a 3 match suspension so I’m surprised about that. But if he’s not ready then it’s irrelevant anyway.

Benteke has to play...we're so much better when he does. I'd go:

Guiata

Clyne - Kouyate - Cahill - PVA

Townsend - Jairo - McArthur - Schlupp

Eze

Benteke

I agree Benteke has to start but I’d go back to 433 for this one.
Guiata; Clyne, Tomkins, Sakho, Van Aanholt; Kouyate, McArthur, Riedewald; Ayew, Benteke, Eze.

I want to see if Bents and Bats can play together,

so for me it's:

Guiata

Clyne - Kouyate - Cahill - PVA

-----------McArthur

---Townsend --------- Jairo/Schlupp

-------------Eze

---------Bats - Benteke

You are right about the 3 match ban, so Luka is still serving his ban but Roy says he should be back for the Baggies game provided his Covid test is negative.

We made Burnley look like Barcelona in 1st half, we played like it was our first preseason with our team full of newcomers.
At least show some guts and fighting spirit - then we can live with losing games. Play Ayew on top alone, Eze as a free spirit, Riedewald and Koyoate/MacArthur midfield with Cahill & Dann central.
I hope Clyne continues his progress and PVA stay awake during the game (his part in Burnley winner was pathetic).
Be happy with a point, fear the worst!

Whatever the team is the tactic will be the same: defensive shape and play on the break, giving the opposition 65% possession. Problem is our main outlet is not yet fit, so I'm not sure how we make the transition from defence to attack. Batshuayi and Ayew aren't an effective pairing so Hodgson has a problem.
Perhaps stick Ayew up front on his own and have 5 in the midfield.

This would be my choice of starting team. Roy has to be prepared to make early changes though if it’s not working.

Really struggling to understand why people keep including Ayew - OK Bats and Trekkers missed chances against Burnley - but at least they were there to miss them - Ayew meantime was anonymous and in general awful..!!

I’ve said before give Banks a run - even from the bench doing “bits” for the U23’s - Roy when you going to give him a chance..!!

Starting XI against Leeds minus Zaha?
Good enough to beat Leeds should be good enough to beat Newcastle but without Zaha it probably won't work, so:

Something different:

Guaita

Clyne Cahill Sakho PVA

Townsend Kouyate Eze Schlupp

Benteke Batshuayi (agree with CrazyBadger)

COYP!
