1-1. The attack is getting it together now although I would still prefer Wilf on the right and Andros on the left and the defence will keep them away mostly. Hopefully we will see Eze having more than a bit part.

I much prefer it if they just swap places during the game, but that's not going to happen with Mr Hodgson, all depends on how Wolves deal with our possession and especially our movement outside our pen box and how quick we can accurately pass, we don't want another Chelsea although I haven't necessarily seen Wolves play with continuous niggling fouls.

Andros has to stay RM. At RB, we have Ward who I love and has been brilliant for us over the years, but to progress as a team, is in that inbetween level of lower prem/top end champ and needs support. Clyne and Ferguson are both no where near fit so need his protection and ability to help them out.

If he switched with Wilf, they would be so exposed. Mitchell has Schlupp protecting him and Andros on the opposite flank.

If we had a fully fit PVA and Clyne/Ferguson then you'd be able to unshackle the players in front of them more. They would also be able to overlap and contribute more going forward which was evident in PVA's 20 mins at Fulham.

Clyne looked nervous and out of sorts but grew into the game, but he clearly needs match fitness and some confidence.

I thought he got sucked into the middle too often. I was wondering if he had taken Roy's narrow/compact defence tactics too literally as when the ball went out wide, he still stayed narrow, which meant there were acres of space in that left wing. Yes, Ward does the same but as soon as the ball goes out wide he goes to the man. I'd have to watch the match again to confirm this but that was my impression during the live game.

Fortunately, Andros played well, tracked back and ultimately helped him out a lot in his defensive duties but not before Lookman had a few decent barely challenged runs.

Having said all that, I thought he did ok for a player who has not played competitive football in an age.

Close call - 2-1 Wolves. Good to see we are much better equipped at right back now. Clyne will only get better and Merrick switched to the right seemingly calm, coll and collected. A little gem we have in him.

Is that a compressed form of Tyrik Mitchell? If not we've just signed the Elephant Man and nobody's told me. What with Pierrick it does get a bit confusing

If we turn up, then a draw is a real possibility.

Turn in a Chelsea performance, nothing but a defeat.

I'll be happy if we can emulate the U23s today (2-1 to us).

If they score early they could put a few past us. If we score early we could expose them on the break. I fancy a 1-0 smash and grab to us. Our full backs are gonna be in for an afternoon of work. For me I think Schlupp needs to play to give TM a hand and Andros needs another top performance to help out Clyne who looked pretty rusty at times last week. I felt like he wasn’t sure whether to stay or go to his man when their wingers got the ball.

whats the crack with Kelly? Thought he'd be back in the team for Ward by now. When Ferguson comes back is he even less likely to get back in the team?
