We should consider ourselves fortunate that he stuck has with the club given the scant game time he has been given. On the odd occasions in the past when he has been called in to cover injured players he has never let us down and must have felt a bit miffed that he was always sent back to the bench when the injured player was fit again.

For some reason this season although playing the same way he seems to always come away with the ball in a tackle. Still not totally convinced but I have to admit he has been very effective. I recall Mark Bright commentating on a game earlier in the preseason that he expected Jairo to feature more this season. Well it is happening and long may his effectiveness continue.COYP That lack of sharpness could have been a result of being left out for long periods of time.

He definitely deserves big credit for this. He has never dropped his head. I’d like to see him play with McCarthy with Riedewald in the more advanced role.

I can see him becoming a regular fixture and a really valuable player, some of us were hoping for a Conor Gallagher type to add some attacking oomf to our midfield, seems like we need look no further, he is playing like we've made a new signing.

He should be. But he was mustard last season when he came in to play full back. I’m sure he was motm then on the bench the following week when PVA was fit again

I'm surprised he makes the squad, let alone match day selection. I mean, Roy doesn't like giving players a chance. He only plays his 'favorites'.....

Think at the end of the 2018/19 season, after an anonymous season, most of us expected him to leave and I don't think many of us would have cared too much. Was impressed with his time filling in for PVA last season and even more impressed so far this season. Think he is our best midfielder now, links up well and also our best passer. Turning out to be a very good signing IMO. And the goal would have done his confidence no end of good. May turn out to be like a new signing

I've always loved the way this man passes a ball but wondered if he could also tackle, compete in midfield. I think he is showing that competitive edge in the middle and, at long last, we might have found a replacement for Cabaye: strong in the tackle and with the abiity to set things going. I think Meyer was bought for the role but this guy fits the bill so much better imo.
