Luckily our owners know stability is preferable to reckless ambition. Just ask the likes of Stoke and Wigan, among so many others. Is our football perfect? No. Are we likely to stay up and have some good/exciting results throughout the season? Yes. Good enough for me Stoke thought it would be right to move their manager on but I think Wigan lost theirs to Everton? the difference for us is Mr Hodgson is hanging his wand up quite soon and more importantly a life long Palace fan, something people on here fail to take on.

This is the bit I don't get. There were people bitching after we won at Old Trafford. I've watched some total sh1t down the years, particularly the eighties and this isn't close. Steve Coppell's era was fantastic but make no mistake the football was very direct and we were compared by many to Wimbledon. Never had a problem with that either.

Rachid, There are people on here who would rather we lost just so they can have a go at Roy. Their first reaction is to say we don’t deserve 3 points no matter what. They havn’t a clue. They think possession is the stat that wins you games.

It was my lame attempt at humour to demonstrate how fickle the average football fan is - including myself.

WE won a game we needed to win if we are to stay up again this season. Fulham look strong favourites for relegation imo. We are 5th now, but probably won't be come the end of this round of matches on Monday. Having said that it was good that we showed more attacking intent today than in the previous two games put together. Am I happy? yes, but I'm probably more relieved that we didn't slip on a banana skin today and managed what we've been good at since Roy came and that is to beat the teams that are likely to be below/around us. The next two games (Wolves and Leeds) will provide a more realistic picture of how we are shaping up this season.

I dont mind playing counter attacking football if we play with more intent and direct going forward and getting wilf on the ball deeper on the pitch, I can handle 25% possession, its when we play 442 with wilf trying to play off the last defender we look terrible. That is entirely down to roy, I dont think Hodgson is doing a bad job but he is not doing a great job. Look at our squad its the first time we can put out 2 different 11 who can both compete at this level.

Still, hard to understand how this was the same team the played Brighton. Let's hope it sticks around. That negative goal differential is worrisome though, as it has been in past years.
